I'm surprised that people think that this game has zero appeal.

Ask yourself, "Who loves insects?"

Answer: Little boys

A few commercials on Nickelodeon, and this game could have been a lot bigger.

I know, right!?

Wrong.  Little boys like to collect and maybe kill bugs, not pretend to be a bug.  A pokemon bug game might work but not one where your cast as a bug.

In the 80's Coleco launched a toyline on the premise that boys like bugs.  It had HUGE marketing.  A cartoon.  A comic series.  You name it, it had it.  It was trumpeted as the next 'big' thing.   Stores bought a ton.  And it failed completely.

There could be a ton of different reasons why that failed.

This was a game that needed advertising outside of gaming websites.  It didn't get it, and has a bad couple of weeks.  No surprise.

I agree. Also, even if little boys want to be bugs, I don't think Deadly Creature would be the first choice the parents would buy for the little boys.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Don't get me wrong - I've nothing against Deadly Creatures.  The developer put a lot of heart and effort into it and I'm sure it's a great game.

But come on.  Don't fool yourself.  It didn't have a couple of bad weeks.   CoDWaW had a couple of bad weeks.  DC bombed entirely, failing to even make the top 200 on launch.

Marketing would have helped, sure.  But even if it doubled sales it would have still been a complete sales failure.  And you don't waste marketing dollar on products with poor potential.

How am I fooling myself?  I didn't say I thought it would get better.  I was just saying the facts.  It had a bad two weeks.

As for marketing and sales potential, you can't expect people to buy something they don't know anything about.  It really surprises me how little advertising most publishers do.

The problem? Its a 'hardcorez' game that the 'hardcorez' dont want. Most people agree its an interesting game, some even think itlooks great, but very few actually went out and bought the game.

Personally, i really like it.

Perhaps the price needs a bit of "tweaking" for the game to pick up.

Otherwise it seems that the "Hardcore" community for the Wii is pretty weak. The people have spoken and they want their Wii Music!! (not to mention their Wii Fit).

I don't think the game would do much better on the high def console which has "stronger hardcore community". Seee my post here.

The thing that went wrong was it had no multiplayer. If they put splitscreen and you and your friend could be a scorpion and spider. Then online where you get to fight other people.
