Nobody mentioned probably the best cartoon of the last 25 years:

Asterix & Obelix is great, although they did actually show the movies in the U.S. a long time ago.  Batman the Animated Series, DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, Thundercats, Thundarr the Barbarian all are awesome.

No, it was older and less popular than those. Maybe not as old as the original chip n dale though. Thanks anyways.

Lets be honest, cartoons are for kids.  We look back and think the cartoons from our childhood were amazing and that cartoons nowadays suck.  In ten years, todays kids will have grown up and they will look back on the cartoons we're calling crap and say wow, they were great.  Just face it.  Anyway, there are loads of good modern cartoons, such as ed ed and eddie, samurai jack, the adventures of jackie chan, Kim possible and many more.

This being said,  I still think that the wave of high quality cartoons born in the 90's will never be rivaled, especially the disney ones.

Two cartoons that haven't been mentioned, and I feel deserve some recognition:

Invader Zim is awesome and certainly deserves a mention.

Yes it does and I'm not saying that becuase I own all 3 session on DVD...

Oh crap...how could I have forgotten about Invader Zim? O_O

^ gotta love that little green guy, even though Gir is even more awesome.

But I just realised that I have never seen a single episode on TV, its always been either on a burnt dvd or online :O
