Forums - Gaming - Marvelous wants to step up from Wii to 'more hardcore platforms'

On topic: Everyone should really read the article. The way the interviewer words his questions I feel is like the guy who sent those questions to David Jaffe. They aren't journalistic Q's...Difference being that Marvelous choose to answer.

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

People in this thread act like Marvelous is suddenly going to develop PS360 games and never make another Wii game again.

This may come as a shock but many companies in fact make games for the Wii and non-Wii consoles.

many people only read the title, most of the people never bother to read the original link and that's what causes problems most of the time.

Definitely.

Still, it seems people only read the OP (not that it wouldn't help if the OP actually linked to the real interview instead of a slightly misleading article about it).

Better? ¬_¬

lol. Thanks pbroy!

Isn't the "hardcore" expierence what screwed em over in the first place?

They picked a few big budget titles that tanked?

Seems like a bad idea... until they get themselves a huge heap o cash.

Ha! I was just about to post the full interview, Thanks Pbroy.

The only reason the interviewee refers to them as the 'more hardcore platforms' is because the interviewer phrased it that way in the question. It could have easily been replaced with the term 'HD consoles' or 'non-Wii' platforms, but Wada just decided to go along where the interviewer was taking him.

Marvelous hasn't released any games on PS3 or 360.

note i said "hardcore expierence".

Not hardcore titles.

Marevlous almost went bankrupt because they supported a lot of hardcore games in the PS2 era.

Edit: No wait i'm thinking of Majesto.

Still it's an awkward move for a small publisher to make.

This must be bs, everyone knows that all future 3rd party titles are going to the Wii. Especially the "hardcore" one.
NAUM: Yes, the only games on PC, PS3 and 360 are generic FPS'. I wish they'd get more carnival games and puppy simulators (see, I can go there too).

"There have been a couple of games that feel like they would have been more appropriate on the more hardcore platforms."

I like how people say the Wii has no "hardcore" games, but then when it gets a "hardcore" game they cry about how it should've been put on an HD console. It's like the Wii isn't allowed to ever have any games they might actually be interested in.

Anyways, I wouldn't mind some HD Marvelous as long as they kept up their awesome Wii support as well.

They're quite smart actually. Developing for HD consoles need a lot of money, money that a small company like Marvelous don't have. If only other companis like Free Radical and Factor 5 had followed this advice
