iono, I see it happening both ways. The poor and middle class have more money to spend on consumer goods, thus giving businesses more revenue, in turn, creating a demand for more jobs.

If the customers do not have any money to buy your product, it doesn't matter how much tax cuts you will get as a business owner.

Another great speech by Obama. He did a good job laying out many of the programs in the stimulus and has a great speaking style. Republicans and Democrats alike were awed by him.

Jindal, on the other hand, sounded like Mr. Rogers. I can't wait for this guy to get his ass handed to him in '12. This guy picks volcano monitoring as an example of wasteful government expense. This guy is a complete and total joke.

Frankly, I don't think Jindal will get past the primary.

Do people really think the GOP will vote for someone with a Hindu background when they were frightened to death that Obama might be a Muslim? I hate to break it to everyone, but the GOP thrives on xenophobia. Why do you think they rally around anti-immigration policies?

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I can't help but feel that Mr. Jindal as qualified as he is, was just picked because like Obama he is a relatively young minority politician.
