Nintendo Unveils New Wii Controller

It's not like the Wii was ever short on control pads, but hey, if Nintendo feel we need another one - in this case the Classic Controller Pro - then we're not going to argue.

With information only currently residing on Nintendo's Japanese website, there's no word yet on price, or a firm release date (just that it's coming this year). The Classic Controller Pro differs from the original Classic Controller by adding some extra shoulder buttons, spacing the thumbsticks out a bit more and introducing some hand grips.

Should make playing those GameCube and N64 games a damn sight easier.

So they made a crappy version of the dual shock

Funny how so many people can say they dont like the PS2/3 controller only to say the design is great when nintendo makes it wired.

What are you talking about? This controller doesn't look at all like it'll smash your thumbs together when you push the sticks toward each other.

Also, The Playstation pads are just SNES pads with two extra buttons and analog sticks.

OT: How will they incorporate the new buttons?  Only in new games that support it, I guess?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

To be honest, I've never heard of people (or atleast not many) complaining about the PS2/3 controllers. :/

Still have to connect it to Wiimote

LAME

If it didn't connect to the Wiimote it would cost more money to make, which would mean I would have to pay more money for it. So not lame.

Well, have u used the original classic controller?  I found it really annoying connected to the wiimote, i couldn't really move around much.  If they wanted to keep it cheap, i would have prefered it to connect to the Wii.

Also, they already have an old classic controller that is cheap with the wire.  So why not make the new one wireless to differentiate more?

I don't personally own one since I don't see a point as I have Gamecube controllers, but I have used them before. Well, I don't know what to tell you if you want it connected to the Wii itself, accept buy a Gamecube controller. And to answer your last question, maybe because Nintendo doesn't see a point as you can just connect it to a Wiimote, and making it wireless itself would cost more money for them?

You need to move around with a classic controller? The one that isn't motion controlled?

BTW, can't you find a wavebird?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

looks stupid

this

Wait for the third one you guys…

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I don't understand why people have problems connecting classic controllers to wiimotes. I find I can set it down unobtrusively wherever I like and it cuts down the price of the controller.

This design looks much better for N64 games or Brawl, but I think the old classic controller will still be better for 8/16-bit games.

It's an improvement for sure - looks more comfortable, triggers look better and the control pads being further apart is great.

However, it did not fix up one thing I want. The ABXY buttons are laid out like on the SNES controller, but I prefer the GC layout
