VGChartz site search

Halo 3: 13,300 hits.

Killzone 2: 19,000 hits.

Congrats, your best example is from a site that has more Sony boys than MS boys.

That is jsut weak Starcraft.

Check Blackstar's post. That isn't MS, Sony, Ninty boys. Google = Everyone and is a much better example than what you just tried to use.

Screw that! Check Dallinor's post.

Admit defeat yet?

As for you "correcting". You only did so because right off the bat your argument crumbled.

Even after "correcting" it, your argument still crumbled.

edit: that was for hapimeses

What, my 'hoorah!' wasn't enough? Some people, I dunno!

And nice one, Dallinor. That pretty much nails the coffin down on this odd argument.

ur "hoorah" is always enough :D

Still no answer on whether or not the retail release looks better than the demo?

You do realise BBC is not allowed to advertise right?

Yes, I do; my brother-in-law is a reporter for them, so I know the corporation pretty well. If you read my post, I wasn't referring to advertising, I was referring to the news. BBC News ran a story regarding Halo 3 and the enormous amount of excitement and hype around the game at the point of its launch, and later they ran another story about the huge number of sales Halo 3 generated after its launch. And, to be clear, I'm not just talking about an online story; it was on the 6 o'clock news and repeated on News 24 for some time. So far, Killzone 2 is nowhere near that level of awareness in the public consciousness; I doubt the BBC will be running any prime-time stories about it (I could be wrong, however).

For a single, personal, anecdote (which, of course, means little): my Mum and Dad had heard of Halo 4 on the run up to its launch (they asked if I was getting it for my PS3). Neither have heard of Killzone 2, as of yet. Obviously, both are very aware of Wii Fit.

I think it has been all over the news sites mate. No where near on the level of Halo 3 though. Halo 3 dominated news due to it's sales figures though i think. Beating all other media for first day sales and whatever records it holds will always create a buzz.

Here are a few BBC reports on Kill Zone 2 though to show they are about :)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6929484.stm  (that one was waaaay back in august 07!)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7897742.stm (that one was a few weeks ago)

But personally my fav BBC/Kill zone related piece has to be when BBC showed footage of Kill Zone 2 thinking it was Halo 3! Classic.

Yeah, that last one was pretty awesome. I saw that first time around.

For my original point, I was talking about hitting the mainstream BBC news (the aforementioned 6 o'clock, for example), but I could have made that clearer. That minor point aside, I agree with you entirely: it has been about the news sites, just not to the same level as Halo 3.

The single most hyped game of this generation arrives, and the first person to get their hands on it takes the time to photograph themselves holding their copy and posting said photograph to tease Americans.

Sigh.

oh Nice!

Seeing as the demo only covers two areas from the start of the game and how people say that the game gets better as the levels go on, I think it's safe to say that things will look better than they do in the demo in terms of stuff like effects and lighting.

wow, a complete victory against starcraft and it's good but I'm sad that sony can't do good marketing :(

Well.  I guess it was always going to be difficult to argue about the internet at large when the one single gaming site I frequent is VGChartz :S

Oh well.  I won based on MY internet

^ This here people is how Starcraft expresses humbleness.

Anyone know if there is any plant-life in the game? Not that I care, I would just like to know because that is one of the "arguments" I have heard.
