I keep hearing 360 and wii have all their eggs in this basket, but what about 2008?

I know the Wii has Mario Kart and Wii Fit coming out (not really sure of the rest but you can bet they'll be picking up a lot of major third party support) and the 360 has a lot of big games coming in 2008 as well (GTAIV & Episodes 1 & 2, Halo Wars, Banjo Kazooie 3, Alan Wake, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Marvel Universe Online (exclusive 360 MMORPG), Too Human, Soul Calibur 4, and many other big games) so their eggs are not all in one basket).  I know some PS3 owners keep talking about next year as if only their console will have big games while the others will release nothing and that is simply not the case, if anything next year might become even harder for them if they don't move a lot of consoles before the end of the year.

I'm with HappySqurriel on this one.
Even now, a lot of announced Q4 2007 games are already being delayed to 2008.

Its funny how some people actually believe that the only thing Nintendo is bringing out in 2008 is Mario Kart and Wii Fit, and that MS has nothing after Halo 3. Those are always good laughs.

360 has HALO?!?!? Holy crap! What's this 3 thing? LOL

To answer the question...  2008 matters in 2009 ;)

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

wait wait, so if all of sonys games are coming out in 2008, does that mean 2009 is going to suck for sony?

And of course all the fanboys will scream heck no, so how is it any different for xbox? for the 08 year

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Proud supporter of all 3 console companys

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I actually mentioned this point in a thread recently. X-mas gets the majority of focus so it trumps all the news of games coming in the next year until we start getting much closer to late Nov/Dec, that means we won't start hearing about alot of early '08 games until probably Mid Oct and even then a lot of games avoid release dates right after X-mas since they don't want to compete for wallets when they are still bone dry from the holidays. So I expect to start hearing more about the post X-mas lineup some time in November.

A big reason for the PS3 focus on '08 is a lot of games being pushed back into '08 that were being launced in '07 some of this is caused by the UT3 development delays but some of it is just the normal development Woes.

In general I think its a bit early to compare lineups any further out than X-mas.

OMG! You're absolutely right! One of the biggest, most resource rich corporations on the planet somehow overlooked an entire year on their calendar! Oh no!

Seriously, 2008 means nothing until 2007 is over. This holiday will determine a lot about the future of this generation, and all efforts are being directed to maximizing this year's results. All the companies have games for 2008, but have no need to show them yet as the 2007 lineup is strong enough as it. You'll see more about next year come the end of the holiday season.

2008 is Sony's, get in line for 09 :P

2008 is going to be so pissed off when it finds this out. I have a feeling it had other plans.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

pfft! 2010 is so topping 2009.
