Dude the beetles fucking suck. I compeltely understand your point in making this thread, but the beetles are garbage.

Lol! fair eneough to say you don't like em but I think millions of people would disagree, I'm not much of a fan myself but I respect them as musicians.

I've never heard of this "BSS". But I often see people who act like you describe. hell, we have a lot of them here at vgchartz! Anyway, my position is simple: It sells better = it is better. Think otherwise? that doesnt matter because you are in the minority, dude.

Many gamers think they are "cool" for not liking something popular and successfull. Comments like "Halo sucks!!' "Final Fantasy is overrated!!" "World of Warcraft is for brainless idiots" are all over the internet. I laugh every time I see them.

You don't see that stance as being slightly problematic?

Maybe. I just dont see the reason to make things more complicated.

It's not like there are no popular games I dont like myself.  There are. That, however, doesnt make me call people who buy them "mindless sheeps" or whine on internet forums what games I like more dont sell as much.

If something is popular that means a lot of people like it. Which means that there is something to like about it.

no. its the same with almost everything

popularity = simpleness

USUALLY, shows, video games, books, anime, manga, etc, the most popular ones are usually the most simple ones. they are usually the easiest to just pick up and understand completely. when it comes to games, games like halo are so popular because anyone can pick it up and play it and have fun.

does that mean they suck? NO.
BUT, theres usually SOOOOOOO much better games, anime, manga, etc, then them.
does halo suck? no, its just not amazing like some people make it out to be. its simple.

end explanation.

I am in complete agreement with this post.

Unless a game has shifted over 3 billion units, I'm not in the minority for disliking any game.

I dont like many popular games myself, actually. That doesnt make me call people who buy them "mindless sheeps" or whine on internet forums what games I like more dont sell as much.

S-so

Does tht mean that by your own logic, you have bad taste?

No. I try to look at it differently: there is no such thing as bad taste.

Look: I used to watch Super Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon when I was a kid. Back then I thought it was amazing. but I dont like it anymore - that doesnt mean the cartoon sucks. That only means that cartoon is not for me.

Games are targeted at different people with different tastes. Me not being a part of one group doesnt mean that group sucks and has a bad taste in games.

I see.

Where I became confused on this matter was the point of "better sales = better game" seems to imply an objective standard of quality, whereas now I believe you mean that it appeals to more people. Is that closer?

I guess it is. Saying that sells better = better probably wasnt the best way to say it there. But I just wanted to make it as simple as possible.

so anyone see her cutier?

People like different stuff. World would be pretty bland if we didn't. Don't worry about other's opinions.
