I will not call X and XII bad, but they weren't on par w/ the past titles especially when those 2 titles were on a better console(PS2)

X was waaaaay to simple and GAWD they made the gameplay and story so linear and XII went overboard w/ gambits and the full customization of everything w/c IMO is not so good

but at least they removed the random encounters hehe

I've noticed something. Final Fantasy games (just like music) are all political now. You can't like a Final Fantasy game without hating another with passion. For fuck sake people, you don't have to make a point out of hating on something.

You want Final Fantasy XIII to bomb? I have news for you. Games don't sell because they are good. Hype and advertising count for 95% of the sales. Okami would've sold 10 million + if quality was all that was required.

And Rubang just said he likes Final Fantasy VI more than Chrono Trigger, I don't like him anymore.

Hey alteast they try to make new original games lucky they don't have to lower theirself to make games based on popular movies like Ghostbusters.

I hope FFXIII is good but I have zero confidence in Square.  Of course why should I after XII and X-2.  I did enjoy IX and X, but VII and VIII blech. I won't even get into the suddenly blonde Schala from Chrono Cross...

All the magic makers are gone. They've all been run out of SE by Wada. Even Matsuno who was only apart of games you hated. (Depending on your opinion of Final Fantasy Tactics.)

They weren't willing to go with Squares "Care only about the money" philosophy.

Even Matsuno who admitted that games like FF Tactics and Vagrant Story were attempts by him to dumb down and simplfy the stories of his previous games so more gamers would like and buy them.

The magic makers are gone. Even if they decided now to go back to creativity and good story first.... who would make it?

I would like to see every jRPG succeed. Just to increase developer interest in the Genre...

the funny thing is if you look at hte las ten years what platform has FF been exclusive?? ps2 which is the cutscene heaven. i was telling people that when Square made the jump to the playstation that they didnt care about actualy playing the game they wanted to do as many cutscenes as possible. that is why i did play ff7 but was immediatly ticked off cause of the cutscenes in the game. i mean cmon for years they used actual sprites and in game everything to make the story progress and exciting. then they do the whole cutscene to just make the game pretty. it was doomed to fail. what do you like to do more play a game or watch a game. i think that ffXIII will in fact fail. and if they get rid of the cutscenes it will go back to what it was. a good story good gameplay game. even WOW doesnt have cutscenes and look at how popular it is.
