i think this is a terrific idea.

capcom loves their cross game promotions and this one would would be brilliant.

and i've always kind of liked birdie.

DLC is almost always used as a lazy excuse for getting extra money from players with content that should have just been included with the original game.

Why didn't they just include more characters to begin with? I can't think of any "good" reason.

It could delay the release of the game. Each character has to be tested and balanced (although some games obviously aren't as balanced as others).

If you're thinking about SFIII then it's probably because they wanted to distance themselves from that release. They threw in the original cast and the fighting system is completely different.

They're going to receive complaints either way... but one way grabs them some cash.

If I could have my way, I'd definitely choose Sean (3rd Strike Sean, not crappy 2nd Gen Sean) but you have a good point, too many hadokens... BUT!!! Sean has no hadoken, shoryuken, or screw kick! He's even less hadoken than Dan, not an easy feat. (Just throwin' that out there)

including Ingrid would definitely be interesting, Urien would allow for a more ballanced illuminati character, Yang or Yun (one or the other, but not both) would help explore the story gap between Gen and Chun-Li, also Q would be really awesome.

most of the 3rd strike characters would be hard to include, since they're mostly just crossbreeds of other characters, ie: (Necro = Dhalsim + Blanka)

I agree with all of these Yin and Yun and some other SF3 guys. I disagree with those who want to see the return of overpowered Evil clones of Ryu and Akuma. Thos charecters are cheeezy enough.
