Forums - Gaming - Have 360 fanboys become worse on this site?

I notice that people who are actually fanboys themselves tend to see people who post things they don't like as owners of a rival console. So PS3 fanboys tend to see Xbots everywhere and Xbots tend to see PS3 fanboys everywhere. Its a kind of fanboy paranoia which tends to make the issue seem a lot bigger than it actually is.

The people who see fanboys everywhere tend to be fanboys themselves.

P.S Xbot domination has started? Damn We're terrible fanboys, hardly hyping our own crap at all.

Tease.

Perhaps it is just me but I've noticed a trend of 360 fanboys becoming more vocal and annoying on this site and it's getting disgusting. It will come as no surprise to anyone that I'm a fan of my PS3 and that I enjoy it more then my other consoles but at the same time, I love my 360, wii, PSP and DS. I love gaming. As such, I notice not only when people attack the PS3 but all consoles, but I will admit to noticing moreso when the ps3 and it's titles are attacked but I really think that its no longer the case. Going into threads about Halo Wars, while not free of trolling and fanboy comments, is nowhere near as bad as going into threads of Killzone 2.

I've noticed attacks on the PS3, and it's games getting very outrageous lately. IT really seems to me that 360 fans grasp at straws in feable attempts to put down the system and it's exclusives. For instance, things like a split second delay in response time on the demo of K2 has been blown out of proportion and sold by 360 fans as not only a reason to downplay the game but to claim that it is broken. Not only this but even the framerate of the game has been attacked as being horrendous. What's funny is that Gears of War 2 went below 24 FPS and could suffer screen tearing but I never saw PS3 fans attacking the game or making this big of a deal out of it. It's like 360 fans are fighting to make every inch they can stretch to a mile.

You will always have rabid fanboys attacking both systems and I'm not claiming that the PS3 is the only console being attacked, not by a long shot. That would be ignorant of me. But I find it funny that PS3 fans on this site have been labled as the loudest, most obnoxious fanboys when the 360 fans have been acting just as bad lately. This was the reason why DmeisterJ left the site supposedly, and while I don't think that was the appropriate response, I can certainly see where he is coming from.

Personally, while PS3 fans hype games loudly it seems like the 360 fans would much rather attack then actually love gaming. Which is worse? Hyping games that you love? Or attacking other peoples games? Which one is truely immature?

What do you think?

Right, with all the KZ2 is the greatest or LBP or R2...you're funny.  The bottom line is 3 years into the console wars, Sony is now losing ground, not gaining.

28 million+ 360 owners.

Online gaming more popular than ever.

a very high percentage of people own pc's or laptops hence defending your console is only a keyboard and a click away.

360 fans are becoming more visable simply because the fan base is getting bigger and bigger.

So its obvious your gonna notice more pro 360/anti ps3 threads.

They are HD consoles in direct competition.

Theres always tonnes of ps3 threads.

So maybe 360 fans think ps3 fans have become worse than ever on this site too.

you know "best games coming to ps3 2009"

psn is better than xbl

killzone 2 thread 327,934

Blah blah blah

Now imagine this post made by a poster with a Helghast roses avatar and a pro-Sony sig.

And you said you would be more careful with bets...

OT: Oh god, yes. It appears the different fanboys are worse in different areas.

Sony fanboys: They (we) hype things ridiculously, but that's not a bad thing. What is a bad thing is that they don't think anybody is allowed to genuinely dislike a hyped game. It's hard to comprehend when you enjoy some games that other people can't.

Now, I do get annoyed at the "Zomg KZ2 is worse than Haze!" posts that are clearly made by people who don't own a PS3, and have never played Killzone 2, nor do they intend to (that or somebody who just stepped out of a time machine from 2005).

But when somebody gives a genuine reason for disliking the game (and no, 4 frames of command lag is not a genuine reason), a lot of people get up in arms about it. Xbox fanboys are a lot better in this sense. They accept people disliking their games (I could make another comment here, but it could get me banned, so no).

Microsoft fanboys: They insist on tearing down every PS3 exclusive in existence. Whether it's Tools of Destruction, Resistance 2 and Uncharted which are "not AAA", MGS4 which is a movie, LBP which is a kiddy, casual level toolset which happens to have just won the most prestigious annual gaming award in existence and has a higher metascore than the almighty Gears of War games, and now Killzone 2. Killzone 2 is more difficult, because it cannot be dismissed so easily, due to the fact that it has been compared to Halo and Gears. Insulting the core idea would be insulting their own games, so instead they must nitpick on every small issue: 0.137 seconds of command lag (I bet you Halo 3 has at least that much), frame rate drops to 20 fps (like Gears) or "huge dead zones" etc. etc. etc.

Menawhile, the Nintendo fanboys sit, laugh, and go back to discussing who is hotter, Mario or Link, and the like

Both 360 and ps3 fanboys are guilty of tearing in to each others highly rated exclusives. Gears is overrated, Metal gear is overrated, everybody hates left 4 dead or bought it on pc (cough Bullsh*t cough) ect ect.

my posts covered in sony propaganda (Sony sig and killzone avatar, nooooooooooooooo lol)

Perhaps explains why they get bored and come into the Sony forum so much.

I wasn't making any statements about what the data means beyond the fact that the xbox has always been the least popular and more underrepresented console on this site.

No dude, that happens due to the fact that they write more about the games than actually are playin them.

This is further supported by how many people have wii and ps3 exclusives on this site in comparison to 360 exclusives.

Halo 3 687

Metal Gear Solid 4 775

Super Mario Galaxy 1398

As you can see this data falls into line with the forum data.
