Well, the last year all we thought ps3 would sell more than 360, until august ps3 was selling more, every week, and it almost reduced the difference to 5 million, but when the 360 cut price, and mainly in holidays, 360 started selling more and more, sometimes it doubled ps3 sales, now the difference is of more than 8 million units; how much you think ps3 and/or 360 will cut the price??

I think ps3 will cut to $350 the standard model (80gb) about april, and the 360 may cut to $250 the pro model (60gb), and/or the elite to $350, this way ps3 may sell just like 360 or a little more, also with the games coming for both consoles (without counting the awesome multiplattaforming like prototype, fuel, bioshock, tekken 6, resident evil 5, etc...

At this point,games arent going to matter.(each console has a good library)

Its all about price.

The PS3 will catch up only if Sony cut prices to $299 and Microsoft doesnt counter.

Then Sony will catch up.Until Microsoft counters back,of course.

I think the gap will be about 9 mil by the end of the year, maybe 9.5

Without a price advantage, they will not pass Microsoft

I expect the gap will increase about 10.7M next year.

I actually believe Sony will gain ground this Christmas.
I expect a pricecut in late September.

EDIT:Reason for my prediction.Blu-ray showed this christmas its a hot item.I expect 2009 to be even bigger.A cheap(er?) PS3 will sell like crazy.If Microsoft doesnt respond to a Sony pricecut during Christmas,I think sony could gain as much as 1.25 million just in that span of time.

However,this is all just a wild guess.Pricecuts could happen at any time.

it's a complete opposite of people's predictions last year. It was all doom for 360 and some even predicted that PS3 would catch up 360 by the end of 2008.

Currently, 360 is winning, but it doesn't mean anything, because everything can change, and any move might be enough to switch the tide. So it's hard to say will gap increase or decrease. The best and safest option is to say it's going to be a tie.

there's noway sony can close the gap regardless of the games with the console priced the way it is.

This is biased towards the 360, you should get most of the crap out of the 360 list to make it more fair.
