On Thurs., the Nintendo DSi product page disclaimed that the retailer is limiting the number of purchases to three per household.

Amazon has previously imposed limits to popular video game hardware, including the Wii and Wii Fit.

The Nintendo DSi will be sold in Matte Black and Matte Blue SKUs.

Both carry a retail price of $169.99 and will be released on Apr. 5.

Yep, thats why I posted it. Its the largest % ive ever seen mentioned in a gaming article.

This is not the increase in sales. It's the increase in the ranking position.

Amazon sales rank increases are always misquoted as sales percentage increases by Jumppunch. They are not the same.

if the system's sales went from 1 to 1700 in a day, that would be a 170,000% increase in sales, but it still wouldn't be very good.

amazon is not a very good choice for data like this. that's like claiming the sales for the latest comic are up because it sold a few extra copies at the local wal-mart yesterdaqy.

Even if these numbers don't mean anything, it doesn't change the fact that once the DSi is released, expect to see DS sales skyrocket. And with its current sales, that would be even more frightening.
