Secret Agent Clank?

EDIT: Sorry, I read that wrong. xD

Pixel Art can be fun.

Hell yes!

I don't know if I would. Now I'd just like to go on record saying I fucking love Crank. Its just that video games made from movies don't often turn out well.

Depending on the reviews it got (7.5+) I'd at least rent it.

Owner of 360

Future owner of a PS3 (when it drops to $300)

Probably! I loved that movie.

It would be great if done right!

Tease.

After playing Bad boys, Land of the Dead, and Dark Angel....

I completely agree with you

I've watched the movie, and don't even remember any of it except for a few action scenes, and for the most part it seemed like another Transporter 2. But HOLY SHIT, is this a good idea!

You don't have to worry about story, which is the biggest issue of both VG->Movie and Movie->VG adaptations. Video games usually have a story that's too long, not that great, too oriented on game missions, etc. Movies usually have stories that don't allow the wealth of action and player interactions, etc.

Crank would consist of just running to the next "story point" (a contact, a phone booth, hospital, etc) where you get to save and relax for a bit. They should take inspirations from games such as Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge for the platforming part and style.

You can carry weapons in your inventory (that will slow you down due to its weight), to avoid getting stuck in a fist fight, but you can also carry Red Bulls if you can't find one lying around. Landing hits, combos, special moves, and ending fights quickly can raise your heart beat, but eventually if you let the fight drag on you'll get tired, slow down, and your heart rate will decrease. As a result you're better off running and jumping through alternate routes to progress, occasionally doing a jump kick to get a police out of the way.

You have the ability to sprint, but doing so will tire you out quicker. You can run and shoot, but doing so will get the enemy to use lethal force as well (you initially have riot police going with you with less than lethal weapons).

You have to keep your eyes open, recognize, and anticipate where the enemy and crowd is going. You can only push through so many people, and you can get stuck in a huge stampede and lower your heart rate. You can lose your balance by bumping into someone.

You can have a variety in gameplay by having driving levels, and boss fights...

Dammit, someone make this game.

Movie based adaptations almost never turn out good, so no. The problem lies in having to recreate the movie, which limits what the developers can do themselves. Almost every game licensing job has been based on an original story and setting:

Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Goldeneye007
Marvel Ultimate Alliance/X-Men Legends
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay/Assault on Dark Athena
The Darkness
