Forums - Gaming - SF4 is impossible

i dunno i haven't played the console version yet but i beat the game at a japanese arcade on my first coin, it wasn't that hard at all. I think i got a little lucky against seth though. He had some pretty lame moves that you can't really stop.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

He is not too hard; he is usually wide open after you block many of his attacks (especially his shoulder charge focus attack). If you use the focus attacks (strong+forward) you should be able to beat him pretty easily. After you hit him with the focus attack, you should be able to super him or get a free hit in when he falls to his knees. It's easy to throw (jab+short) him when he is close as well.

If this doesn't work, learn Zangief or Sagat.

I love this game. Probably the best money I've spent this generation considering the amount of hours I'm going to get out of it. Nonetheless, I acknowledge that this game won't appeal to everyone.

Never played SF3 so I can't comment but it's definitely alot different to street fighter 2 turbo and anyone who says otherwise simply hasn't delved deep enough.

I suck at fighters. I never play them. Still, I have fond memories of playing SF2 on SNES with my cousins and loving it despite being young and sucking (I just spammed Ryu's Hadouken because I thought it was cool). But man oh man, it took luck and 20 trys for me to beat Seth on the easiest setting... At least I'm not the only one but this game just reinforces my feeling that I seriously suck at fighters.

Im sorry but this game is mostly based on Sf2. I've played SF series for over 15 years now and have played each version of the game.  Other than the new characters and people from Alpha series ,all returning fighters have the exact special moves and supers. The characters move a little different and have slightly different range for their moves but once you figure out timing it plays exactly like SF2 series.

The new stuff they added like EX moves, Focus attack (essentially a parry), taunt, 2 button throw and dash forward are all from Street Fighter 3.

Revenge meter is new to the series...and thats pretty much it.

it's not impossible on very easy or easiest but there is a jump in difficulty when you fight Seth on easy and above :s

What I find impossibly stupid in SF4 is a few missing options:

1) the bonus rounds from the original sf
2) each player having their own background unique to them
3) original music for each character

I feel somewhat cheated that backgrounds like the jungle are duplicated and passed as different backdrops due to one bring night and day!

I hope they patch the game with the option of having a choice in using the original or new music and what is it with the cheesy theme song?!?!?!?

I don't know if this is true but I saw on the Gamefaqs forums that seth's difficulty is broken when you install and download the update (at least on ps3) so if you played him on medium instead, he probably wont feel much different. Deleting your install and update data from the game data utility may help.

I've unlocked all the characters (including seth) and I did it without deleting my install or update. I think a simple jump kick followed by a sweep is the best method for seth
