ehhh i dont think you can compare the 2 imo they are both different
street fighter you defeat an enemy by draining health where as brawl you must knock them off the stage. Brawl is 4 player with sometimes huge enviroments where as street fighter is a small strip where you must fight close combat unless if you use your range attack.
So if you ask me you cant compare them
but if i had to pick then
Street Fighter gets the win

Unless you make your match a stamina match, which is another thing Brawl did for fighting games, it was the first to make a huge leap in match customization, you can have your crazy 4 player brawls, team matches, 1 vs 3 matches, stamina, special matches like Giant or tiny, go for a more technical match with 1 vs 1 no items, and there really is no fighter in history that gives you that sort of freedom.

Street Fighter 4 burries Brawl. SF4 is a very very serious game. I played the series since the start and would like to think i have played the best fighting games out there. Brawl is what i consider a fun novelty game. It is cute and cuddley. A game you can play with your girlfriend. Where as in SF4 your girlfriend would end up getting a Rhianna style beating, the same beating most of us get if we go online with it. As others have said it is like saying Mario Kart is a racing simulator, it is in a different league to SF4.

Smash Bros Brawl is so much better. One of my friends bought Street Fighter IV is different from the past three titles and the fighting is technical fighting like the Tekken games.
