Oh snap you opened a can here, but I've had this discussion before actually, I leaned towards Brawl, Street fighter IV is great but not Brawl great.

Well of course. It doesn't have Ness as a playable character, so the game isn't even on the same level as SSBB.

EDIT: While I play as almost everyone in Brawl, I primarily main Ness and Dedede. Do you seriously main as Ness? I've never met/played anyone who has. =

Ness is just way too versatile and amazing IMO. I love how his movements and attacks are always just a bit unpredictable. That and I love his down A in the air. :P

I've got both Street Fighter IV and SSBB both are awesome but Brawl has that factor that you can be technical, skilled, and fun at the same time.  Street Fighter IV is the same but when you start getting into the game it becomes more BS and cheapness then fun <_< which is where Street Fighter has always made it's home, great game just leg sweep cheapness can win fights at times <_< and people don't see cheap as fun.

I've mained Ness since SSB cause of Earthbound, I believe in the pick your favorite character way of thinking, not "these fighters are on another level then these" etc. In Brawl I can use just about everyone but I mostly use Ness, Lucas, Pikachu, Dedede, Ike, and Pokemon Trainer.

As for people that main Ness, I rarely find anyone that mains him but think of my surprise when I fought a guy from these forums with the same name and we met randomly via Brawl matches, me and Tao are both named Pat and we both main Ness and use the same black shirt Ness and met in a game, not only that but our styles were similar.

And yeah I like how Ness plays, really unique, and a lot of fun.

Note: My avatar is Ness from SSB because there's few good avatars using the Earthbound SNES sprites.

SF4, no contest.

Brawl's better because it offers so much more. If you want to, you can change it to a hit point (life bar) mode, where it plays like regular fighters. Or you can stick to the sumo style ring out mode. However, in SF4, you are stuck with the life bar.

Brawl's also better because SF still has to fucking explain why Blanka is green. Falling out of a plane and getting raised in the wilderness does not change one's skin color and hair color, give them giant tufts of thick fur on their chest and forearms while the rest of their body is baby-butt-smooth, give them claws, or give them the power to control electricity.

Blanka has control over electricity because his diet consists of electric eels.

On topic, I would have to say Brawl is the better fighter to me. In general I have more fun playing it.

CIHYFS?

Also LMAO at the comments that people post without even trying both games, it's basically like this "oh I love PS360 and SFIV came out on it but Brawl didn't and SFIV will not be on Wii so it's automatically better cause it'll make the Wii fans feel jealous"

Why do you think Blanka fell out of the plane? Accident? More like mad scientist research gone awry. Any fool knows to dispose of the evidence, and who the **** would predict Blanka to survive that fall?

Hell I don't even know who Blanka is, or whether it's female or male, which is why I used the name each time instead of using the pronoun, but even I know the answer to that!

But shouldn't the game mention that ever, or at least imply it?  The only time they mention crazy mad scientist shit was in the movie, which sadly isn't canon.  It's funny that considering how horrible (and also amazing) the movie was, it was the only time anybody tried to actually explain Blanka.

Blanka's definitely a male, and a mama's boy.  That's basically... his whole back story.

But even then, his story is more interesting than Ryu's.

I was totally pulling that explanation out of my ass by the way. :P I've never played much of SF and I haven't seen the movie.. =

My friends were just never into the series, and seeing as how friends tend to influence each other, and that it is a big multiplayer series, I never much cared for it.

Now excuse me while I run away before someone goes crazy on me.

EDIT: You sign out after almost every post I see you make. What the heck are you doing? :P

I don't actually ever sign out.  I guess after I'm afk for a bit it says I'm offline.  I open a ton of threads at once, make a few posts, and then wander into another room to get drunker, and then come back and look for responses.  I'm basically always here.

Also, Brawl has 2 player, 3 player, and 4 player gaming.  SF4 only has 2 player gaming.

And possibly most importantly, Brawl has a level editor.

@BCrayfish, I actually remember discussing the electric eel diet possibility with my friends when SF2 first came out and we were trying to make sense of him.  Thanks for the hilarious flashback.

Brawl owns every fighter this generation and probably every other game. masive content, huge roster of modes, fighters and stages. after playing brawl every other game(not only fighting games) feels kinda empty.

My main beef with fighters like SFIV is having to do button combinations to do moves.  Yes, it adds "depth," in that a skilled player can do them and a new player can't.  But that's more complexity than it is depth.

One of the deepest games in the world is chess.  And how does a chess master destroy a new guy?  Is it the new guy's inability to move a pawn forward?  Or the inability to move a bishop diagonally?  No, he can do everything the chess master can do.  But the chess master knows WHAT to use WHERE and WHEN.  The HOW doesn't even enter the equation.

After 10 minutes of playing SSBB, almost anyone has the ability to do all the moves.  But learning the WHATs, WHEREs and WHENs is what really creates the depth.  And you never need to worry about HOWs.

you are joking right? SSBB? what is next comparing it to tekken?
