For a turn based JRPG, its modestly quick. I felt although having the close-ups of the characters and constant camera changes broke up the action a bit. But again, this is from a initial view, I have little doubt in my mind that my opinion's will change when I start seeing more of this.

I hate the character designs, they're all getting choked by their outfits.

BTW, i was hoping for in game battles...

The 2nd battle video turned me off with the red-haired guy. Then again, the 6th battle video with the half-naked pink-haired chick brought me back.

Think Secret of Mana versus *BOOM* battle area change.

I am packed with games already as it is.  That's why I am waiting for Tales of Ten.

FFVII is NOT poorly paced.  I don't think there is a mainline FF that is poorly paced.  If any of them were, then they wouldn't get the excellent reviews they have been getting over the years.

I don't know if u have a friend or sibling to play with, but it's really good 2players.

Final Fantasy 7 is well-paced up to the moment you are required to do the Honey Bee side-quests to get into Don Corneo's mansion.  That's the first point where the game loses a lot of its momentum.  It continues well again even through the Sephiroth scene in the next town to faulter at Junon and the boat trip.

Don't believe me?  Go replay the game and see what I mean.

I don't think you notice this but our tastes in games differ.
