To me it was a dumb move to go exclusive. They would have had much more success if this game was multi, considering where the fanbase was.

FF13V will make more money multi. Valkyria Chronicles would have made more money multi. MGS4 would have made tons of extra money going multi.

Whenever you use that argument, remember it goes both ways.

Before trying to attempt to make me look foolish why not point out where I said those game shouldn't go  multi.

Straight from the Valkyria Chronicles wall.

Please go multiplatform, only so that fans of this game have a better chance at seeing a sequel.

I just picked this game up so at least I have done my part, I just wish games like this would get more love.

If there is a Phantasy Star Universe 2 on consoles. I'm pretty sure it won't sell as much as Phantasy Star Portable.

That would meet the arguments criteria right?

But it wouldn't be the same type of games as PSP. PSP focused heavily on local multiplayer, and that's not going to happen with PSU2. Apples and oranges...

That's doesn't matter. It's still a remake on a handheld of an older game and will outsell the next console version. ~_n

So that makes it sad that Star Ocean remakes on PSPs couldn't outsell Star Ocean 4.

I honestly do not where you are trying to go with this.

Yes or no question. Is the PSP remakes the last Star Ocean game in the series? Answer is no.

That is the point I made, I have no idea where all this other stuff is coming from.

Not only that, but the bloody remake of Star Ocean for PSP actually outsold the original SNES game.

Like I said earlier, I didn't start this ridiculous argument (X360 vs. PSP), but anyone thinking mainline Star Ocean game on PSP wouldn't outsell SO4 is delusional...

There's you and the readers of this thread, Euphoria =)

Just a general reminder these kind of arguments always, always go both ways.

You're off on SO1 by a bit, going by VGChartz anyways.

Your first comment makes me wonder then why in the hell they would re-release the first two on Sony platforms and then only release the follow up title on a platform that has none of the other games and none of the fanbase. Shouldn't they have re-release the first two on XBLA instead?

Makes very little sense to me.

I was using Famitsu numbers, not VGC, for all 5 Star Ocean titles.

Also, the PSP is not the Playstation, it *is* a different fanbase, although close to eachother. That's like arguing why the DS got the Final Fantasy remakes, while the Playstation 3 is getting FFXIII in Japan.

And yes, they should have released titles on XBLA, but I wonder if they weren't strongly considered due to size limits.

Star Scream - Monster Hunter Portable destroyed Monster Hunter console, so why is it that we can't assume that handhelds have power to sell a title? I mean, Radiant Mythology 2 for the PSP destroyed ToS2 for the Wii - it outsold it in 2 weeks. So why is it that the SO remakes have absolutely no bearing in the argument?

That makes sense then, my apologies.

I still think they should release them on XBLA, it could help the game get a few sales later on.

Facts are not welcome here, lol.

You mean Brett made up all the numbers?

Consider the last 2 Star Oceans sold 374k and 396k for the first week, this is pretty bad for the franchise. Square Enix is really screwing up by not releasing this and other games on the Wii (or even the PS3). If this were on the Wii, it would have sold in the 350k+ range.

This will not get close to the sales of WKC.

I just hate when I get grouped in with those people though. It makes me very sad.

I just want to see good games get the sales they deserve.

Very good start for Star Ocean.

SO4 should easily reach WKC numbers but an established IP vs new IP is not fair at all. Ryu Ga Gokotu 3 vs SO4 would be a better comparison and we all know how that one is going to pan out.

I will let the WKC vs SO4 comparison slide by this time due to the install bases.

@Bitmap Frogs SO4 will overtake Blue Dragon no problem, basically WKC numbers

With how frontloaded all 360 games are in Japan, this is no chance SO4 gets anywhere near WKC numbers.  Your dreaming.
