Please say that the cut-scenes are pausable!!! 45 min cut scenes would be unbearable without that, and one thing MGS 4 did have was good dialogue and fantastic voice actors, so these cut scenes will likely not be as good....

Things like having to change disc all the time seems really annoying, but I am not going to bother waiting for the PS3 version to sort that out. I hate really long dungeons with infrequent save points, one of the reasons I never finished IU.

Ultimately it seems that they have not learnt all the lessons they should have learnt from IU, and it still has poor pacing, though it still looks like one of the better jRPGs, but not as good as LO (hurry up Mistwalker) but those achievements look incredibly annoying

Really. Another "open all the treasure chests in the world!" achievement.

I still feel getting all the skills for Kaim and the other Imortals was much worse...also where is the Achivement list?

I still have to get the treasure trove achievment and skill master....

I linked to the achievement list in the gamerscore thread, and you can find it at Xbox360achievements.org, nearly half the list are secret achievements

Great score day one for sure...whenever that may be in Europe :(

I'm more interested on seeing the love affairs unfold in this game.

You pervy!

So the main gripes are poor pacing, design choices and english audio. Music (Motoi Sakuraba!), gameplay, story, character progression and all the typical SO extras are great. It will most likely be my favorite jRPG and RPG so far this gen. LO had a great story halfway through and awesome writing, but the gameplay bored me to death (and I don´t have any issues with turn-based combat, since I love DQIV and DQV too soon), presentation was also not great (character designs were great though).

If Tri-Ace/SE can find better voice actors and put an extra effort in pacing and presentation then their next game (VP3 please) will probably be a classic.

secret ach. means story related. I find them ok and hard, LO ´s ones were hard and a pain in the ass. I like hard ones, not easy ones like in F2, FO3 and PoP.

April 24.

For reference, they gave First Departure a 7.4, Second Evolution an 8.0, Star Ocean 2 an 8.8 and Star Ocean 3: Til the End of Time a 9.0.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Did someone say 45 minute cut scenes? Why do that in a video game?

Their credibility just fell into the thrash can.

Not a very bad score at all. Either way the game should be a blast. I had fun with LO, IU, and TLR. So far everyone says this is better than IU and TLR which were I admit mediocre. They were still pretty fun though and if this is better than thats awesome. Not every game has to be AAA in order to be enjoyable.

Good score but once again, FF and DQ will have to be the ones which deliver the goods with an AAA game. Brother has this game and likes it, he hated WKC so I shudder to think about what reviews that game will get.

It did get an 8 but then again Eurogamer had no idea about what was being said in the game, story is said to be damn awful.

It's also quite amusing how 360 fans seem to be tolerant about the length of the cutscenes yet the same group said mgs4 was a movie. In mgs4 at least you can pause the cutscenes (except the mission briefings which I think you can still pause with the "PS" button but I'm not sure)
