Well this has turned into a ssj12 v.s. sieanr debate.

Anyways, Im still excited for warhawk and the headset.

Yes its theorically possible that you are just dissapointed ,but if you are dissappointed thats something that only concerns to you ,we dont have to be hearing your doom and gloom predictions and your ever negative takes on everything PS3-related just because you arent happy with your purchase .

 If you bought the PS3 waiting to play MGS4 and FFXIII in 3 months you were wrong as it was clear that they wouldnt be out by any means before end 2007 and probably later .You being wrong doesnt turn the machine into a bad machine .

If you thought you would be getting tons of games that would not be in the 360 or PC right from the launch ,some 10 exclusive games each month ,they you were wrong .It was obvious the multiplattform strategy will be stronger this generation and many 360-PC productions would be converted to the PS3 specially in its early life .If you were waiting other thing you were wrong ,but thats your fault .At least we are enjoying ports of  games at the highest level like Rainbow Six Vegas ,GRAW2 and Oblivion and not crappy PS2-GC-PSP  ports as the Wii .

 If you thought the 360 ports would look way better with a totally reworked engine and graphic lift up they you were wrong .Ports usually look worse or the same or have some malfunctioning .It was like that last generation with ports of the PS2 running worse in the Xbox (MGS2) and ports from the Dreamcast running worse in the PS2 (Craxy Taxi ,Ecco ,Code Veronica ,Dead or Alive ) .At least some ports have been perfect like Fight Night Round 3 ,Oblivion ,GRAW2 ,Tigers Woods ,NBA2K7 ,NHL2K7 etc etc .

There are a lots of things to like in the PS3 .The free online gaming ,the compatibility with PC accesories ,the multimedia capabilities ,the retrocompatibilty that goes back as long as 1994 ,many games out and of high quality for the time it has been out (put aside if they are multiplattform or not ) ,the incoming Home features ,the reliability of the machine ,the blu ray player if you have a HDTV ,the upscaling of DVD and PS2 games ,the incoming games ,etc etc .You just chose to buy it at launch for the wrong reasons because you didnt think better in all the things I have just told you .You should maybe have thought better and buy it 1 year and a half later when FF or MGS or wichever game you were waiting is out and the machine price is about half the launch price .

 In any case if you bought the machine at launch for the wrong reasons its your fault ,you should have thought about it better .That doesnt turn the machine anything worse ,nor its software .But the dissapointment has apparently turned you into a hater .You are probably the only PS3 user I have seen in the boards badmouthing so much the machine and Sony and predicting its failure .Some are angry because some game has worse framerate ,others because X game has been delayed ,but you are the only one that predicts the demise future  of the machine with such joy .

 If you dont like it sell it .If I had something I dont like at all I would sell it.Do it and you will make someone happy  .If you dont its because you have some use for it or are waiting for games coming .Then its not as bad you see .So if you keep the machine is because you still wait something about it (then its not as bad ) or simply because what I said before .....you are angry because you made a bad decision (for you ) and keep the machine only to answer back if someone says you are a fanboy or a hater .But having the machine doesnt change that you effectively hate Sony and the console .

Skimming through it, you claim that my disappointment with the system is why I claim the Wii is going to win this gen. Wow....

And I guess expecting a decent console, not some half finished trojan horse, for $600 is too much :(

No ,your dissapointment with the machine is why you claim it is going to fail ,be unprofitable ,lose the support from third parties ,etc etc .Its demise ,thats it .

 As for your last sentece I strongly suggest you read what the person you are responding you actually wrote .If you dont your response sound stupid and you sound as if it wasyour brain ,and not the PS3 ,the one thats half finished .

Now, addressing you're points by paragraph;

1. I dont give a damn about FF, altough I am looking forward to MGS. However, I bought the system for RFOM as well as the other exclusives this year. Maybe you can explain to me how this was the wrong reason for a purchase?

2. I can read a release schedule, so no. I've had many systems at launch, so I'm used to the game drought that is typical for the first year. However, with the PS3 this has been made worse by the delays that plague the system. But I dont see how you can enjoy well done ports and I can't. Care to explain?

3. Give me a break. I'm not some idiot who thinks the cell is a supercomputer on a chip that can do anything, including making the 360 look like Xbox 1.5. Anyway, I own a 360 so I don't see why ports would interest me, even xbox ports with amazing graphics. Additionally, as stated in the first point I bought the system for the exclusives, not ports.

I'm gonna break this into a couple smaller points, even though this isn't an attack on how I spend my money.

Free online; It's free, but needs a massive overhaul in every department. I'm willing to pay $50 for the experience live provides, if Sony can meet this for free then great - so far they are years away.

BC; I still have my PSX and PS2, plus I'm the anal retentive sort who prefers to play games on the original hardware.

Multimedia/PC accesory bullshit;  I have a computer that does all of these things far better than the PS3 ever will. I buy consoles to play games on, maybe this is the wrong reason for buying a PS3?

Home; I couldn't care less

Upscaling; Again, I have an upscaling DVD player and this does an awful job with games(such as adding lag).

Current games; Competition means that they have to do better. Sure, the games may be alright for this stage in it's life, but thats not enough when the 30 has Bioshock, Halo 3, Mass Effect, ect. All of this is hapening while Lair has recieved average reviews, HS looks to be 8ish and Warhawk is the PS3's Shadowrun. But whatever, its all subjective and I'm honestly more interested in some of the original PSN titles comming down the pipe.

I'm sure you've never had buyers remorse. Too bad everyone can't be as smart as you.

You must not read many threads here anymore. Besides, I don't see why a person can't subjectivly look at the performance of  console they own. You act as though owning a PS3 and having a realisitc outlook about its future is some sort of sacrilege.

For the record, I loved the Dreamcast and it's one of my favorite systems. By mid '99 I realized that the system was probably going down, but this didn't prevent me from enjoying the system any less.

I don't hate the console itself. I'm not angry because I made a bad decision (I honestly dont regret the purchase)

I've owned just about every system for every generation since the 16bit era, and I own far more consoles than I can count. I can honestly say that the PS3 is one of the biggest disappointments I own, and this comes from a person who had lowered their expectations when they purchased it. Say what you will, but this console is a departure frome everything that made the PS1 & 2 great, and thats what really pisses me off.

But this is all pretty funny shit, right?

 especially since it took the 360 a year and half to get where its at with functionality and sony only 9 months to have 90% of everything the 360 can do.

The game looks pretty good after reviews ,excepting that first lackluster one ...

I'm eager to see more reviews of it. Not that I'm convinced that it's not a good game (I was in the beta and loved it), but I just want to see how it scores after seeing the other reviewers after PSM. Since the experience will be highly dependent on the how large the community is (lets face it, I feel that it's almost not worth playing in servers that have under 32 players), I mainly want to see the reactions of everybody first and how well it sells. Since I'm here at my new apartment and this weekend is a 3 day weekend for labor day, I'll wait till I go home for the weekend to pick it up which will give me a couple of days to listen to everybody's opinions.
