Forums - Sony - "Something huge is cooking" at Polyphony Digital :O

I love gt series over any other racing simulator, but they just take the piss sometimes.5 years for a sequel is a long wait!

1) car damage is an issue they must have resolved. How can they ignore it?

2) addition of the top gear track alongside their leader boards would be epic. Can you imagine competing against the celebrities and the STIG!

3) weather options and day and night cycle.

4) ingame custom soundtrack.

5) a psp version of GT5

6) a GoW and LBP racetrack

7) more realistic non static back grounds.

8) film cars: batmobile, KITT, Blackmoon, Dalorean as shown in b2tf, ECTO1 etc

9) motorbikes

10) a 2009 release intime for an Xmas blow out!

I dont think GT will ever get damage, way too many legal hurdles

i dont understand quite fully why there would be any legal hurdles.  care to explain??

anyways...hmmm...like one of the guys from the other site said....it'd be great if it was about a working clutch...i'd just hope there's a pedal box with clutch that greatly mimics a real car clutch....

Yamauchi who makes the GT games wants realistic damage in his games and not arcade damage such as you would find in Forza.

So with that said the car companies are just not allowing Yamauchi to add damage to their cars in the game. They are saying arcade damage is fine but PD do not want that so I do not see damage being implemented into the game. Something has happened at PD anyway which is said to be huge, we shall soon see if it is GT5 damage, the game being ready, weather or something else.

I thought the reason they have the hurdles around damage is because unlike other devs, Polyphony doesn't pay for the licenses to use the cars, it's just given to them, thus the car maker gets to make some limitations.

Really though, this game needs to get moving and out the door by November. Enough is enough.

PD do not have to pay but as I said car companies do not want cars to have realistic damage but do not mind arcadey like damage. The logo of the car is alwaus fine in other games with models, Yamauchi wants realistic damage and as someone said Ferrari were being knobs about it.

I have a friend that works at Polyphony Digital, so I asked him about this huge thing that is supposedly cooking. Here is what he had to say:

"Haha

If I told you they'd have to kill me.
But its nothing really, just business as usual. "

For what its worth ...

Ahh i am feeling hot man

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

It looks "big", I wonder what it is ... But well it's PD, so it's maybe just the damage patch for GT5P ... Or maybe a sequel to the moto racer game!

BTW, the name of the shooter is omega strain! and it was pretty bad lol.

Hmm i remember that Japanese guy that is behind GT series(don't know his name but cool guy that loves cars) in one interview with Gamereactor said that he would like to work on RPG for their next project, and that GT engine is able to do that type of game. Imagine graphics of that beast?!
They aslo made PS1 classic Omega Boost.

I think this E3 is going to be EPIC, from all sides.
