I want to pick up one of these but in order to pick up SFIV I would need to trade in a few games.

I heard SFIV is better for the newcomers and I haven't played SF in so long that I would be considered a new comer once again.

I am not super hardcore, I don't have a Hori Stick or whatever else people use, I will be using the standard D-pad.

Now is SFII for the seasoned vets or is it easy to learn for the new players as well?

If I pick up SFII I would like to get it for PS3 just because the D-pad on the 360 sucks but the PS3 version is cheap and has no trophies, but I can look past that.

Anyways, which would you guys prefer and why? I just feel like playing a good fighter game where I may be able to win a match or two online.

the uk psn version of sf2 is being released tomorrow. alledgedly it will have trophies (reason it was delayed, scee demanded trophies ) and that would sort that dilemma.

i'm in the same boat as you, but on paper it looks like sf4 is a better buy. you get a physical item which you can always trade for a little over half the price of a 12yr old version.

i will be buying both though, i cant help it, the nostalgia is too strong. i dont think it will be worth it since i can never trade it or buy a cheap copy, but what can you do.

If the European version does indeed get trophies then most likely the US version would get a patch right?

That would make this choice a bit easier.

This...best one of em all. However if youre not a SF veteran it may be too much. SF4 is a nice blend of everything.
