Forums - Nintendo - What are the 3 best DS RPG's?

1. The World Ends With You
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon

Around the Network

Thx for the input guys, I've decided on Chrono Trigger, The world ends with you and FF IV

RPG's RULE !!! :D

Dragon Quest V DS
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

There's just too many other good games to consider however. Chrono Trigger is of course one of the best RPGs ever made. However, its mostly just a port with some new areas and a new menu interface. Whereas the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest remakes are new games. Moreso with the Dragon Quest remakes which are getting entirely new content that adds hours to their playtime and story/characters.

There's also tons of other RPGs on the system to consider, and more on the way.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

The World Ends With You

Final Fantasy IV

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (SRPG)

Well im getting Chrono Trigger in March so this should also get on the list.

So many and so good...

I'm not going to give a 1-2-3 list... just get these: Chrono Trigger, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Final Fantasy IV, Luminous Arc, Etrian Odyssey, Etrian Odyssey 2, The World Ends With You, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, Dragon Quest V: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride, Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon.

And coming... Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled, Sands of Destruction (JP World Destruction), Soma Bringer (please bring it, Nintendo...), Inazuma Eleven (please bring it... whomever it is), Shining Force Feather, Megami Ibunroku: Devil Survivor, Mario & Luigi 3, Avalon Code, Suikoden Tierkreis, 7th Dragon, Dragon Quest IX... so on, so on...

Thx, I'll definitely be looking into some of those.

It's just amazing how much more RPG's are on handhelds than on next gen consoles.

Its 10x cheapter and fater to make a game on a handheld now.  Especially since the games on the 360 and PS3 have to be 'HD' and 'HIGH GRAPGHIX'.  But also, the DS is pretty much the system that the Japanese market is eating up, so its going to get the majority of the JRPGs.  Especially since third parties are shying away from the Wii.  Its the perfect little system to work on when you don't want to work on the Wii, but want to clean up from the Nintendo hype.

Final Fantasy IV
The World Ends With You
Chrono Trigger

Hmm....just three? Can't limit myself that way, dude.

For the DS proper: Final Fantasy IV (not III...), Shiren the Wanderer (Rogue-like), Eritrean Oddysey (it will rape you, though), Dragon Quest IV, The World Ends With You (it's unique, although not everyone loves it), Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, Chrono Trigger, Rune Factory (very different).

For the GBA: Golden Sun 1+2, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Final Fantasy V+VI Advance, Breath of Fire II.

Upcoming games to keep an eye on: Mario and Luigi 3, Dragon Quest IX, Legacy of Ys.
