we all realized that amazon sucks as an indicator but Warhawk is in the top 100 (last checked 1 am EST last night), Uncharted is hyped to hell, R&C will move some consoles, Eye of Judgment will move some console mainly in Japan though. Umm.. Folklore will be a big hit as there hasn't been any good next gen RPGs yet in Europe or the US. 

It's good news for both MS and Nintendo. MS for obvious reasons. Nintendo because MS being 2nd in the US and close to Sony in Europe means that the 2nd place worldwide will be divided (Sony is 2nd in Japan), thus strengthening Nintendo dominance.

MS has a strong line up of games in their hand for this Christmas season. I feel the Xbox will hold the ps3 this season.

Sony has a couple advantages when it comes to Christmas sales. The first is that I suspect Sony's Christmas sales will see a much bigger boost than MS who will see a somewhat bigger boost than the Wii. This is due to many more people not willing to spend at least $700 on something except at Christmas vs. more people willing to spend at least $500 during the year vs just about everyone willing to spend $300.

Sony's other advantage is as others have mentioned that if you're talking about WW sales they will easily win Japan and Europe.

In the US alone though I don't think the PS3 will pass the 360. It has never outsold it in a single month. Even had Sony shipped enough at launch to outsell the 360 in its first month it owuldn't have happened since PS3's were already piling up on store shelves weeks before Christmas. Despite a price cut boost in a bad month media wise for the 360 the PS3 couldn't overtake it. Now the 360 has a price cut and I don't think anyone would argue a better lineup of both existing and upcoming games so I don't think Sony has a chance this Christmas in the US. At best I expect a base 2:1 sales advantage for the 360 to drop to 3:2 or 4:3.

It would please me greatly to see Sony eliminated as a nuissance, that way Nintendo would gobble up all the Japanese franchises and Microsoft could gobble up all the Western dev franchises.

I think that sales will be roughly equal this Christmas.

Seeing that 360 is getting a price cut in Europe and PS3 apparently is not for a while 360 could outsell it in PAL regions, it's actually very close right now the way it is. Japan is not gonna help PS3 that much because they simply don't have many games coming out. It's actually amazing how lacking the lineup is in Japan, it's like Sony wanted to lose Japan. The 2 biggest games of the year are already out (gundam and HGS). Regardless Japan sales will slightly neutralize the big advantage in the US.

I'm not looking forward to this christmas on this forum after how poorly the PS3 is going to sell then watching all the Sony Fanboys freak out and flame everything.

nah, they are all saying "2008 is our year!!"

and when the Ps3 bombs this christmas it will only heighten their promises and ovations that 2008 will turn everything around for them.
