Well, its better than a bunch of unlockable vids you can download from gametrailers right now.

Did you missed your today's Boogie session? The dogs bark but the convoy passes. You are the dog, HS is convoy if you didn't get it. This game stand on it's own.

Er... you're usin that proverb wrong man.

The point of that proverb is that it's a military convoy, the dogs are barking... yet the military convoy gets through.

It's used when something is going to happen, all the people are warning you it's going to happen, but you ignore it hoping it will all go away.  However the convoy still passes the watch dogs and the disaster still happens.  Ignoring reality doesn't prevent it.

In this particular use of the proverb the dogs barking would = reviews, while how good heavenly sword will be would be the convoy.  So you are bringing up a proverb that runs counter to your position.

The dogs are watch dogs.  It's not the dogs that are stupid or powerless.  The dogs actually are the smart ones and the other soldiers and people not listening to the watch dogs are the stupid ones because the convoy gets by them or gets the drop on them.  Well in a way the dogs are powerless but the dogs are supposed to represent those that inform.

Dog? Convoy? What the hell are you talking about?

It's a proverb. This game will be successful because it's simply worth it. Reviews like this won't change it. $60 is nothing for this game.

Every game is affected by reviews -.-

I get the feeling that somebody who has played the game the entire way through knows slightly more about how much a game is worth than you.

yea no kidding

im sorry you can NOT justify your answer until you have gone through the game, ign has and now they give there review

And its not worth the money for everyone so dont say it is unless you have played it.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Was kind of expecting the low score. You cant keep making the same game and expect to get high marks every time. Sony made it fairly clear that HS is a GoW clone with a female in a skimpy outfit. Add to that less game time and you get a mediocre score. No surprise here.

Can some mod FINALLY BAN Kber81? Now he is insulting other people as dogs. Maybe he doesnt know you will get killed in some countries if you tell someone hes a dog?

Seriously mods, do your job. Just yesterday I saw him insulting someone on another thread and then one of you said: final warning. Now OWN UP.

Sure. I didn't sustain how long this game is. I already know it's short though. I like the gameplay. I'm currently playing NGS and I like HS battle system more. Believe me I'm the last person to throw money around. I'll pay $80 for this game. Do you know why? Because for me it's worth this money.

For you, yes. However that doesnt mean 'for everyone' which your original posts strongly implied.

In my country there is a different meaning. The point is dogs can't stop the convoy. No matter how loud and furious  barking is.

Right... because they are just the watch dogs.  The people who want to stop the convoy (disaster) have to listen to the watchdogs to do so.  I don't think it has a different meaning in your country so much as your going with the wrong proverb.  That one is a variation of an ancient arab one

"The dogs bark yet the Caravan still moves on."

Caravan being different from Convoy in that a Convoy is usually used in a militaristic fashion.

While a Caravan is more often seen as a non offensive group of traders.  This would be the one you would want to use to try and insult him but sound intellegent doing so.  Of course the problem with the original of course is often times said dogs may know something about the caravan that others don't.

Which makes the analogy to use because dogs are really better then most people at detecting a few things... most importantly in this case they are better then most at finding...

 a bomb.

So you kinda set yourself up for a witty counter in using that proverb.  Which is why it wouldn't be the best to use in this situation either.

Though I personally thing Heavenly Sword should be a good game, It being short for an action game is a bummer but I don't find any action games worth full price anyway.  I need more then 10-15 hours playtime to justify full price anway.  It'll be a great game for me when i pick it up used somewhere for around 15 bucks however.  I imagine it'll be an above average game.  A 7 isn't really a bad review.  If it gets as many 7's as it does 9's that'll give it an 8.  Sounds about right doesn't it?

I have to say that the meaning you described is the one I always heard (although I should point out the actual Arab proverb you are quoting is "The dogs may bark, but the caravan moves on" not the convoy), and I live in America. However, I don't think the proverb is very applicable to video game reviews. Certainly some copies will be sold regardless of reviews, but reviews do affect game sales without a doubt. They especially affect the sales of a core game like Heavenly Sword.

Well kber81 has a point about the proverb. It's not military in any case. But people get too offensive sometimes. If i say "sly as a fox" and then tell someone that he's the fox, is that offence? I think not. Furthermore I think that kber81 is right, people might hound that the game isn't what it was said to be, nonetheless it's still a good game, so it will sell.

Deep into the darkness pearing

Long i stood there

Wondering

Fearing

Doubting.

Wasn't that supposed to have been one of Sony's AAA titles. OUCHIES!!!! Well anyway as the stampede of games come forth, lets see who'll win round one between BioShock (MicroSoft), Heavenly Sword (Sony) and Metroid Prime 3 (Nintendo) in terms of ratings from IGN or anywhere else for that matter.

A rating of 7 (or 7.8 as you guys already put it) isn't that bad of a rating for a normal game, but if a AAA title gets that kinda score then that might not be so good.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)
