THey had a thread like this witha few thousand participants on neogaf, and MGS was theonly franchise that came close to touching Zelda, surprisingly.

I think it was because MGS4 had just come out, though.

1.mario(seriously, no other franchise has been as consistent and as important for gaming)

i can't say that these are all my favorites, but i think that they are the most important and most influencial franchises. gaming wouldn't be what it is without these.
