Hah, Microsoft, who needs 'em?

A number of veterans from Ensemble Studios are picking up where they left off after being shut down when Halo Wars was completed. They formed a new studio called Robot Entertainment.

The name's just about as much as anyone knows about them right now though, but I'd wager they're working on new RTS games, which is their forte. Ensemble was mainly known for the popular Age of Empires RTS games, and of course
, Halo Wars.

Microsoft said that its move to shut down Ensemble Studios was "a fiscally-rooted decision that keeps [Microsoft Game Studios]on its growth path."

Interesting news... Age of Empires might be back!  or atleast its incarnant.... with a different name :)

Same here. Hopefully when Microsoft said "we hope to continue to work closely with them despite firing their asses, etc. etc." they meant Age of Empires 4 would be in ur computers, takin over ur lifes before too long.

Mmmmm im thinking that might have an effect on the excucivety factor.  RTS' are now finding their way to the consoles more and more frequantly.... but i really doubt that it will be a direct AoE sequal.

They should've joined Petroglyph. Westwoord + ensemble = RTS heaven

A Wii RTS from these guys would be great.

So would a Wii FPS from Bungie.

Microsoft... givin to the world.
