Forums - Nintendo - So, I decided to start hyping Arc Rise Fantasia.

I couldn't really help it with all the threads popping up with new pictures and all (mostly thanks to Soriku, I believe?).

So even though I didn't really care much about this game before, I'm pretty excited now. I just hope it comes out in Europe pretty quickly.

Fantastic idea!

Personally I'm very excited for the game. It's going to be sort of the wii's Final Finatasy.
What i'm most excited for is the music though. Yasunori Mitsuda is an awesome composer. Chrono Trigger has my second favorite video game score.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Arc Rise Fantasia practically has average stamped on the cover and drips with mediocrity. I have no great or amazing expectations of it.

However, it is in a niche which the Wii desperately needs games and one that I particularly enjoy so I'm looking forward to it.

It doesn't seem to deserve being hyped on its own merit but more so on the "OMG A WII RPG!!!1" basis.

i want gameplay videos, i can't hype a game if i don't know how it plays

Saying ARF is going to be mediocre is like saying a Tales game is going to be mediocre.  I looking forward to it partially because Mitsuda is doing the soundtrack.

But Tales games are usually pretty mediocre.

Give me some good reasons why you think Tales is mediocre and I'll back off and pretend you didn't say anything.  Soriku is going to be pretty upset with you though since he is a huge fan of the series.

Don't trust WoW, he has bad taste in some RPGs ^_^

Tales games aren't mediocre >.>

Okay, Phantasia was pretty good.  The rest are solidly mediocre (can't say about Vesperia though).

I made an entire thread to why I think Tales of Symphonia (GC) is overrated last year.  Google it.
