Forums - Gaming - Left 4 Dead offers the best multiplayer experience ever!

Before I get slammed on by Halo and Call of Duty 4 fans who love the party system, both of those games do not offer the depth and fun that Left 4 Dead has.  Each versus match in Left 4 Dead feels cooperative and competitive at the same time, and it really gives you the chance to talk to your team without hating them.  Every team match in Halo and Call of Duty 4 is just pure competition and nobody really talks except to scream how frustrated they are.

Sure, L4D is not perfect; you will get teamates that will decide to shoot at everyone because their friends are on the other team, not play at all, or even decide to do nothing when a hunter has pinned you two feet away, but with the right group of people, this game offers the best multiplayer I have ever seen in a game.  Tank you valve!

What game do you guys think has the best multiplayer?

Freudian slip?

Left 4 Dead is indeed a fantastic multiplayer game.

Nothing more satisfying than destroying all four humans quick time with the tank.

Or completing one of the lengthier maps with all four survivors in tact.

Or even vomiting on everybody when the humans are trying to help each other up thus causing MORE PAIN......!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Muwahahahahahahaha.

Still officially online game of the year 2008

Great game.
Great multiplayer
Unfortunately the graphics are awful though.

I loved playing the splitscreen online.

Even if the game is extremely hated around these forums, I wouldn't count out Resistance 2's online either. The coop mode especially, is extremely entertaining and addicting.

Yea, Left 4 Dead looks great and although ive never played it I'm still certain that it hasn't toppled my all time favourite online game - Metal Gear Online.
I don't think MGO got the praise it deserved. It had good Clan support, a great level up system, many weapons, various good maps and modes, many fantastic ways to kill oponents, great rewards and a super survival mode that I got hooked on.

I would agree that both L4D and Resistence 2 are great multiplayer games.  But you cant count out COD:WAW either,  With co-op story mode, co-op competitive story mode,  co-op nazi zombies, and the standard multiplayer with 10+ modes in that.  it is an impressive lineup of multiplayer options

Oh, no doubt in my mind but I haven't actually tried them so I can't really comment on WAW.
