In terms of software quality they have MASSIVE amounts of catch up to do.

You're going to need to back a claim like that up ...

Based on Gamerankings.com Nintendo has developed more 90% games in since they launched the Wii than Sony or Microsoft have in the same time frame ...

Right now, neither. They don't need it. They have proved that you don't need HD nor a DVD playback to succeed but a good interface and fun games.

In the future, nobody knows. Obviously, HD because by then most TV's will be HD but the rest I dunno.

And I don't care. There are lots of wii games I want to play and many to come and I don't want to think in something hasn't even announced yet.

Way to spin things. Look at the total am+ount of Wii games above 80 and compare to HD systems. The difference is striking. PS3 and Xbox have multiple times more 80+ or 90+ games than the wii.

That's what really pisses me off about "professional journalism". Instead of criticizing the lazy developers they attack Nintendo like spoiled little kids.

No wonder why they are dissapearing.

Miyamoto hinted a some new Wii thing regarding Wii 2, so my guess would be an new-ish system.

And it will be called the WII.

i don't think the wii 2 will need better graphics (although it will probably get a modest pump in graphics). it needs more functionality. more ram to handle certen functions, some more flash memory (a harddrive might work, but it would suck up lots of power and generate heat due to all the moving parts, not very good for electronics) it should be as much flash memory as they can cram in there for a reasonable price.

other than that, i don't really see anything else it needs on the hardware side. maybe some better bluetooth capabilities to support more controllers/controllers that have to send and receive larger amounts of data.
