@richardhutnik: HD games MUST go multiplat, cause they cost too much to make. Quality not the issue being discussed here. We are discussing their weird decisions of 360 exclusivity while being a RPG maker in Japan. Not a lot of people own 360 or Ps3 in Japan, so if you're gonna make a HD RPG game, multiplat is the only reasonable option.

you cannot call someone stupid for buying the system certain games were promised to be on. Promises are a spoken contract. Its the developers fault that they have been had.

what? did you just say SE shouldnt release games on PS3 BECAUSE of their standing in Japan????? PS3 is 3to1 to 360 in japan. There general rpg fanbase is much stronger with playstation,everyone knows this. it is down right foolish that they have yet to give the PS3 what iseen to be playstation's strongest genre. None of their HD games have done that well. Why the hell does SE keep preaching multiplatform but do the exact opposite of what actual success requires?

There is something going on in the background we dont know about and it is not boding well for gamers.

Good article. I really don't get why Star Ocean 4 is 360 exclusive after the first 3 being on Playstation consoles. Thats like if MGS4 had been 360 exclusive since obviously the first 3 were PS exclusive.

All they have to do is port it to the PS3 and it should sell better than the 360 version (because of Japan)

Iremember rather fondly of FFXIII being labeled ps3 exclusive at the end of trailers. SE stated FFXIII would never be on 360 while hyping the game. SE also said they were going to attempt tapping out the PS3s power.

the first SO4 trailer said PS3.

SE said they were going mostly mp this gen.riiiiiiiggghhht.releases for 360-last remnant, IU, and soon SO4, FFXIII. PS3 releases-none to date, FFXIII,FF Versus in the future.

this article is correct on the Free Radical comment, that would have been a WAY smarter move on Square's part.

Some other comments make sense like SO4 on 360. Why have it exclusive? doesnt that not bode well with tends? Most RPGs on the 360 sell decent at best, even Last Remnant failed to deliver many sales for the genre on the 360 for Square. That is a major sign post saying exclusivity of any kind, timed or full, isnt a smart idea.

Yes, Wada is ruining SquareEnix. But really, Square was running itself into the ground before Wada took over. Final Fantasy has always been their flagship title and the name brand they depended on. And if anything took funds away from their prize horse, they stole it away from that particular game or franchise and gave it back to Final Fantasy.

Its the reason the Final Fantasy movie nearly bankrupted them. Its the reason Enix had to merge with them and bail them out. Its the reason their company STILL continued to lose funds after their merger. Its the reason they're currently making tons of Final Fantasy sequels/prequels/remakes (20 in the last 2 years). The people who work on the Square side of SquareEnix just have a one track mind....its Final Fantasy...and nothing else matters.

You may forgot, the we're gonna treat every console equal speech.

Hey Cloud, I get your point, and I would agree but really the OP is just an overly emotional pup who needs to stop thinking the entire world is all about him/her.

It's life, people lie to you, people use you, get over it and move on.

In free countries around the world you have the freedom to do whatever you want, that's the point of it being free in your country (if your in a free country) You can even kill someone, your free to do it, but everything has to be paid for, your free to kill someone but chances are you will pay with jail time or your life, your free to pick up a bag of chips, but chances are your going to pay 50 cents (USD) for it or if you steal it well your free to do that as well but you may face some penalty.

SquareEnix can make it's decisions, from where I stand I don't even know what games Square has come out with outside of games on the platforms I own, it's always news to me when I hear people say IU and Last remenant are Square games, because I don't own a 360.

I do know of Chocobo Dungeon, DQ swords and FFCC Mlaak, also the FFTA series and FFCC: ROF
