Forums - Sony - The reason you love Sony?

SCE is the best development house after Nintendo. They pump out awesome games, and that's why I love them.

My top five studios, in order:

Eiji Anouma's Zelda team
Kojima Productions
Team ICO
Naughty Dog
Media Molecule

After that it gets iffy because you can't really assign a specific team for certain franchises like Smash Bros.

But yeah, as you can see, two of those studios are internal Sony, and one is second party.

I will always buy Nintendo and Sony consoles because I'm ensured a great selection of games for any they produce.

Media Molecule over Santa Monica? After one game?

Kratos is not pleased...

I'm surprised to see Kojima above Team ICO on your list.

No offense, but the OP sounded like it was trying to justify Nintendo fanboyism and claiming others are just wrong.

Sounds like one religion claiming another religion is completely false.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

Because Sony is the only company in this industry truly investing to make video games a valid artform.

Team ICO have an unlimited budget despite not making commercially successful games. Flower, Flow, MGS, LBP, and others, they make, sponsor and promote games with artistic sensibilities rather than just trying to cash in on the less sophisticated mainstream market.

They are willing to lose money on their consoles and their games (Team ico and others) to elevate the industry. Nintendo is doing the opposite by giving the perception of the industry being a toy, rather than a valid form of social, political or artistic expression/commentary.

I totally agree. Imagine the gaming world without Sony. Scary if you ask me!

the world is never ready to move forward until you force their hand. Digital broadcasting has been available for years. it is just now becoming mandatory for all channels.People still are resisting it as if it were a bad thing. Shoot,i remember when my mom was going through her VHS-DVD transition. She refused for the longest to upgrade. When she realized thatvhs was discontinued she had to. Now that she has experienced the benefits of dvd she cant go back.

It is finally that time again in our lifetime where we move on to bigger better things.

You say there is very little difference between dvd and bluray, i say thats crap. there is a 40% increase in picture qaulity, u can see pores pustulating on peoples faces. it looks worlds better.

the truth is you just dont care for it because you are "satisfied" with dvd quality. nothing wrong with that. Yet take this into consideration. All that extra space on BD alows for more content. imagine the whole series of your favorite tvshow on1-2 discs.

You only see a big difference in picture quality in a tv that is over 40 inches. With that said, I realize I might get a blu ray player in  the future, but only after I get a bigger tv.

As for putting whole series onto 1 bd, I don't see that happening. It is only possible if they kept the picture quality at dvd otherwise it wouldn't fit. bd have to get a lot bigger before any of this is possible.

I don't hate bd or anything I just see it as an unnecessary waste of money at this point in time. I do however, appreciate your input on the subject.
