Forums - Nintendo - How many copies of Madworld have to sell to get a sequel?

So how many copies do you think need to sell to make Sega tell Platinum Games to make another?

I actually have quite high expectations about how MadWorld can sell but how many do you think Sega wants?

How many will make Sega think that MadWorld should become a franchise?

My guess is that if it sells 1 Million, we can be assured of a sequel..

probably around 400k

600k shipped to retailers is the magic number. Anymore might might make a 3rd one possible.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

if it makes profit, that is enough.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Tougher to figure out, i think. Platinum Games, despite pretty much being Clover, is technically a new developer. They will operate under different standards of predictions than Clover did, and we have to factor in Sega's attitudes against Capcom's attitudes.

Though numbers previously suggested sounds about right. Also, what was this game's budget?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

In truth, we have no idea.

Viewtiful Joe supposedly didn't make a profit, but they made a sequel, I am sure some other games have made a profit but been canned.

Doesnt platinum pretty well only strive to make completely new games. I'd say it would have to be pretty big for a sequel to be considered. I guess 500k-1 million would make it possible.

In the case of this developer I think maybe its more of a case of what they want to do, not so much what game will bring in the millions. They're more artists than anything. That being said I don't think they will make games that don't make a profit, its just that they don't seem to be too worried about selling millions of copies.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

I would use the 500k barrier at the bare minimum if they even try to make a sequel but without having played it is it even something that could possibly spawn a sequel? I'll definitely be grabbing this one at least
