Forums - Nintendo - "Onslaught" FPS on Wiiware.

Can't say I have heard anything about it, but it is now on the PAL Wiiware list for 1000 points.

Does anyone have it?
Is it any good?
Is it out in America yet?

Onslaught, by Hudson Soft....Uses remote + Nunchuck.

Also released today was "pop-up pirate" for those interested.

I am checking more details on Onslaught now.

What, that game's out already? :o Wasn't it announced like last week? Looks mildly interesting. Might get it, if it turns out to be any good. The controls *should* by great, by all means...

The screenshot looks good (does anyone have a internet based image?)

Some info from the overview:

"The game is set in the near future on a distant planet where packs of hostile alien creatures attack in overwhelming numbers."

"Story mode follows you through a number of missions as you battle the alien onslaught using a wide range of weapons. Onslaught also allows you to compete against up to 4 players worldwide using Nintendo WFC."

I saw some footage that was posted and it looked really boring but until I hear some impressions on the multiplayer I won't be buying it.

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.

Yeah that sounds totally rad! About time Wii got some FPS action too. Hope it turns out to be a good game... C'mon people, anyone got it? :p

Controls:

Pointer - aim (duh)
d-pad - change weapon
B - attack (or fire)
A - Change support formation

- button - ride BKG-G9 (presumably a vehicle)
+ button - pause

Control stick - move
Z - activate beam whip
c - release grenade safety catch

Remote waggle - reload
nunchuck thrust - throw grenade/use beam whip/wipe off bug blood (lol)

Swing both controllers alternately to break free when a creature bites you..

--------

Change of controls when riding the BKD-G9

A - BKD-G9 assault switch (I have no idea what this means)

I hope is as good as the good ol' FPS of yore (more action/arcade oriented than sci-fi/ soap operas like Halo).

It looks very arcadey. A lot about getting high scores.
