So I DL the demo yesterday, I'll post my thoughts in the second post.

I didn't like the demo all that much. They really shouldn't have tried emulating dual analog controls. The copious amount of auto-aim don't really make up for it, either.
Though this is my first shooter-ish title on a handheld. I may just need some time to get used to things.
- Graphics: Nice CGI, but I thought the in-game graphics would be a little better. They're not bad at all, but I think that there is a lack of polygons for the ennemies.
- Gameplay: They did their best with what the PSP has to offer. Of course, it would have been better with a second stick. So you move your character with the stick, you aim with the four buttons (square, triangle, etc etc), R1 for the main fire, L1 for the second fire, up arrow to interract, left arrow to change weapons and I forgot the rest ^^ There is an auto-lock so it's pretty easy to aim your ennemies.
- "Atmosphere": the game reminds me more of R1 than R2. The action takes place between the two games, in benelux-germany. The hero is a mercenary (from england). He's not as charismatic as nathan hale, a little too "tom cruise" IMO (yeah I'm cool, yeah I'm the best, yeah I'm gonna save everybody). It looks like the story is polished. As I said before, there are CGI but also a "slide" before the mission, like in Resistance 1. There are many cut scenes during the demo, more than in R1.
- Sounds: bah nothing special, they're good, excepting voice acting, it's not bad, but not as good as in R2 (I played the game in french, so I dunno for the english version).
- What happens in the demo?: So the action takes place in benelux-germany, you have to infiltrate a chimerian base to destroy it. When you're inside, you discover than one of your friend has been kidnapped. The mission is to save her of course. During the demo, your friend will talk to you to explain what she sees, how she feels, that's a good point. Nothing else to say, except the fact that you can use a cover system, which is automatic. At the end of the demo, you got to kill a boss (giant robot).
- What do I think about the game? Even if it's just a demo, I can say that I'm more hyped than ever! The atmosphere is better than what I expected. The graphics are OK (looks like syphon filter), gameplay is correct. It will be a nice addition to the Resistance world.
I actually like the control scheme, I got used to it in Gun and I think it works quite well.
@MM476: It's the same in other action games. Of course a second stick would have been better, but trust me, you get used to it pretty quickly.
i played the demo and for me it's huge let down. it's basically Syphon Filter with different textures and worse gameplay. while SF games on psp are quite good Retribution felt really boring and empty. i've had more fun playing the demo of Disaster Report 3 few days ago.
I doubt I'll pick this up. I've bought one PSP game since I got my PS3 in December 2007, and that's because it had "God of War" on the cover.
I've considered the MGS game, but I don't like Resistance as a series enough to warrant purchasing this. I did buy the Ratchet game, though.
Wait, isn't this made by the people who made Dark Mirror and Logan's Shadow?
Sign me up, after I'm done with KZ2. If it (RR, not KZ2) gets good reviews.
