Both me and my girlfriend hate Valentine's day. The past years we rent and watch action movies and thrillers that day, because everything on tv and the streets is vomit-indusing, sugary-coated.

I dont mind spending money because i know my girlfriend has spent money on me

Valentines day is OK, when I am single I just ignore it and when I am in a relationship like now it's just an excuse to do something special.

The way I view it is that if you hate it so much, why not get a girlfriend/boyfriend? Then you can be a part of Valentines day, and you don't have to worry about being single. Also, if you are single and don't really want a girlfriend/boyfriend, then just don't worry about it. Pay no attention to the couples and just go hang with friends or something. That's what I learned to do eventually.

As I have grown up, I still don't understand why we celebrate. The only great thing about valentines day is it happens to be the same day my father quit smoking.

Yeah it drives me nuts that a company (in this case I believe it was Hallmark) can make up a holiday, and this nation of idiots decides to celebrate it and make it official and spend a ton of money! It's unbelievable.

Of course my wife is heckling and sometimes jeckling me about "what I'm gonna do for Valentine's day" and as a husband it probably isn't a good idea to say no or nothing based on the principal of it. Although I will hand it to her, she said it doesn't have to be "conventional", it just has to be someting, as I guess something of a compromise. So at least she understands my point. I dunno I guess I'll buy her a DVD or two. Prolly some chick crap.. Well she oughta like Whole Nine yards.. I might get her that.

Meh. I got my wife a card, stuffed animal and chocolates. I got my daughter a stuffed animal and candy. My boy got something at school.

I'll get some loving, too, and I'm good - especially if the game goes into overtime.

Well, it isn't exactly easy for shy guys to get a girlfriend, but I managed. Basically, I just met this girl I really liked, and we started to talk. It took months for me to work up the courage to ask her, but she said yes. ^_^

Really, just talk to a girl and get to know her. Spend as much time with her as possible, and become one of her best friends. You'll probably be able to tell if she likes you easily enough, and when you do, it's as simple as asking her. Good luck! =)
