Why the hell are you trolling? You do know that Star Ocean is not that big of a JRPG series especially since its now on the 360 where oh surprise surprise the majority of JRPG's on it dont even break 500K

RPG is no better the way he expresses himself. Also mentioning Squaretax, which applies only to handheld games in N.A. Their HD games are cheaper than those of the competition. Games are expensive in Japan, one way or another.

It's moreso that the high price will lower demand until it becomes cheaper.

Here in the UK the games which sell great are from huge franchises and due to that the games can be sold cheaply as so many copies will be sold. Same was for Tokyo when I was there, dont talk out your ass and start comparing game prices to the Wii or any game console. Games consoles =/= games, you will never understand that in this case because your console bias will not allow it to. :(

Low demand = lower prices. High demand = Higher prices. This has nothing to do with games, consoles or anything this is just a simple rule for every economy.

Let's take the only market that comes close to the theory of a perfect market: stock market. Why do you think are some shares rising and some falling? Because there is certain relation of supply and demand.

The price is the result of demand and supply. Of course you can change the price to affect demand and supply. According to your theory a price-cut would result in lower demand.

An increase in price for a good which is barely demanded would most likely kill the demand totally. So again, according to your theory Sony should raise the price of the PS3, because the demand is not that huge right now.

Heres an example, even though its not a good one it works. Gas prices rose because the companies knew people needed it. They knew people would still buy it even at obscene prices. They lowered it once they figured out NOBODY IS GONNA KEEP BUYING IT as long as it stays that price.

Higher demand means that the producer can afford to put a higher price on it. When something doesn't sell well they LOWER THE PRICE. Common freaking sense people. Thats how EVERY consumer industry works.

I agree, with logic, anyway, that's why most first party nintendo game are still, 50$ and ds first party are 35$. Also wii and ds didn't have any price cuts, just because of the demand.
