Forums - General - Contact Lens T.V.? In 10 years?

http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/121134

Contact lenses that can beam video programming right into your eyeball may be just 10 years away from reality.

Ian Pearson, a futurist (not an engineer, mind you), says that body heat would provide all the energy needed to power the high-tech lenses. And that's not all: "Digital tattoos" could also be developed to allow wearers to literally feel the emotions that the director wants you to feel. Per the piece: "This would allow James Bond fans to feel the thrill of outdoing the enemy or sports fans to experience the elation of jubilant players."

Imagine what this technology can do for gaming - if possible.

Awesome, finally a bonus comes from wearing contact lenses

That sounds incredible. But im guessing it'll cost thousands to get one IF it finally happens

That can't be good for your eyes.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

How do they propose this works? I have heard of the contact lens in lecture which has a beam of light projected onto it, but that is impractical and useless... and requires power.

Still, exciting stuff, I may work in this industry if I never actually do a masters or PhD lol

That's... odd.

It kind of creeps me out.

Would.not.buy.

Watching tv through eyeglasses = Yes
Watching tv through contacts= Nah.

I dont like the fact of putting anything other than light into my eye.
