Personally, I don't have this infatuation with graphics although I must say that Resistance 2 played and looked like a charm. I don't go off on pictures and I don't scan the entire game for low res textures (something some people here seem to do just to bash a game). It's probably indeed true that promises are often hard to keep in the gaming industry (I just point to the entire emotion engine by sony and the elaborate PR gibberish that Lionhead Molyneux often brings forth).

But as long as the game plays smoothly and the graphics are good (and I doubt that you can claim that R2 looks bad over the entire game. That shot in the square with the fireball on the left: I hardly see the problem there. If you're playing that scene, you're hardly going "that tree looks aweful" and even after everything is settled, the game still looks nice, despite the low-res textures and glitches that pop up here and there.)

Just nitpicking imho, especially when the game (whether it be Resistance2 or GeoW) DOES deliver.

It is the key concept to Marketing Bullshot (Penny-Arcade)... and it is a reality with every HD Blockbusters.

But for some reason, it is actively forgotten by every fanboys community... KZ2 is the actual best example of it....

KZ2 in person looks better then any of the shots released by Sony so far.  So you might want to re-think that stuff about KZ2.

don't attack the graphical capabilities of PS3 games.... poor PS3 fanboys won't be able to brag about their 4 year old PC capabilities afterwards....

@ hephaestos: Although the TS gave examples from the PS3, he also talks about the same thing with the Xbox. So are you in fact trolling? :)

I never trust screenshots period. Alan Wake is a prime example of that//I don't even know if that game will turn out to be what it is right now considering the long development//hell I even thought Alone in the Dark on the PS3 and Xbox 360 looked damn good in the early stages and I mean those games look pretty sweet now//I don't look at games to much for graphics though//its the gameplay I value and thats where screenshots I don't trust til I see the game in person or in action via gamplay videos.

Considering only one Pc game looks better then KZ2, maybe you should try again.  And no racing game on the Pc can match the car graphics in GT5p.

if i show you how the games work in my new PC you could cry and for GT5 its not the graphics that make it looks great its the art style also dont forget that GT5 is full of pictures in the background .. and how come you compare a PC vga graphics with RSX that use the 7900gtx chip ? even my geforce 260 gtx is 10X more powerful than it and there is way more powerful cards than mine ... i play now COD world at war in my PC and its look better than Killzone 2 .. if i have time i will take some photos and i will show you.
