Well, there aren't a lot of British voice actors in America, and the ones that are typically have their fame already and cost more. Yet, to set up operations in the UK and actually pay British people (or, heck, even if it were just outsourced) would cost significantly more. Americans are much cheaper to hire.

You assume a British voice actor was available at all. It is entirely possible that if any people with a british accent auditioned that they were far worse than just getting a bad immitation.

I mean, i go with the british voice actor every time.  It helps prevent laughably bad voiceacting.

I mean... go to like 2:25 in this video and tell me it wouldn't be better with british and french voice actors speaking english...

Wait, that guy is supposed to be French? And aren't they supposed to be fighting?

This isn't a bad accent problem, this is a bad everything problem. Are you sure smarter productions don't use your idea already?

Why didn't they just get british people to do the voice acting.  I mean, why get Americans attempting to do British Acting?

Why don't they get someone who speaks english and has the actual accent they want.... rather then hire people and have them attempt really bad voice acting.

I mean... why isn't this common sense?

Final Fantasy 12 did this right, incidentally.

The US has a huge entertainment sector and it's probably very cheap to contract out voice acting, most games have very little voice acting and so people most likely do it for extra cash while they try to pursue careers in acting.

But yes I typically prefer British, Australian, Scottish etc. voice acting because most of the Americans sound bored, and I like foreign accents.

if they didnt you would need subtitles because you would be unable to understand what was being said.

It's probably cheaper to just grab some cheap American VA and do it everything in one big sit through.

Also, Koei has never had good English voice acting.

It's not the accent. The problem is that is some of the worst voice acting to ever disgrace the videogame genre. It's so bad, it doesn't even work as comedy. Ouch. I feel like I need to rinse out my ears.
