Forums - Sony - Ign Uk review heavenly sword

I've had the same feeling, actually. We've seen so many delays of Sony games that they have to be scrambling to have something to show for the holidays. They pressure developers, the developers rush the games, and this happens. The irony of the whole thing is that when you sacrifice content in order to get the game out on time, BluRay is obviated.

Am I the only one who thinks these games (Lair and Heavenly Sword) are getting these bad reviews because Sony is rushing them out so that they don't have an abysmal software lineup this year? 6 or 7 hours of gameplay is ridiculous. There isn't even a Gamecube game that short and they are on 1.5 GB minidiscs. There is no way that this game went through a full development cycle if a reviewer can beat it in 6 hours. I think the same thing happened with Lair. A lot of the issues sound like problems that happen when a game is rushed to the market. Is Sony killing its own games in order to make it look like they have a better 07 lineup?

WTF? 6-7 hours? Its more like 10-15 hours.

edit: Heavenly sword has been worked on for 2 years on the ps3, they delayed it to make it better. Funny how ign uk is the only reviewer than gave it anything lower than a 9.5, and gametrailers is loving the game from there preview. Are you sure they didnt rate the demo :P

^ You haven't even played the entire game leo-j, you don't know how long it is. But this reviewer played the ENTIRE game and said it's 6-7 hours.

The developer said it was 10-15hours long, I didnt read the reviewer said 6-7hours I shall check on that later. The only reviews I trust is ign itself, and gametrailers.

 Hm....

Reviewer on a well known gaming site who has played the game (maybe extensively):

"and it adds up to maybe three to four hours of decent combat in a game which takes a rather embarrassing, and distinctly un-epic, six or seven hours to beat."

Random sony fanboy who has likely only played the 5 minute long demo:

" Its more like 10-15 hours."

Who should I believe?

The reviewer says 6-7 hours, and I can't see any reason that he has to lie to us about it.  2 years is a very short amount of time on the PS3, as numerous developers have complained that it takes 3 years to make a good PS3 game.  So if it only took 2 for this, I think that supports my theory that Sony is rushing these games to the market.

The developer is Sony leo-j, this may shock you, but I think sony lies sometimes. Anyway how do you know the 3 that rated it above 9.5 only rated the demo. This game may be good in short burst, but not playing it for a while. The other sites may have only rated the demos which was good because it was a short burst of greatness, but the game as a whole is dissapointing. IGN gets advance copies and they play the game thorougly, while the other sites most likely did not. Like I said, this game is a good time for 10 minutes, but gets boring fast.

"d/ take an example :
go on internet try to find a "most anticipiated" list for 2007 and I m sure 2*Mario+MP3+REUC will be killed by CoD4/PES2008/PGR4/GT5pro/Halo3/Haze/Unchartred/Heavenlysword"

None of those games (especially the ones coming out this year) will outsell mario galaxy.  Halo 3 has a shot, however in the long run Mario galaxy should win.
