$119 for the reader

$199 for the burner

(starting prices)

Unless you really want to watch BR movies on the system its probably not worth it.

Well I figure that is where we are going to be at for the next few years. But it wont be needed so soon. The price will come down pretty fast over the next couple years right?

so Sharky54, when are you going to buy a sistem that can run that awesome Crisis forest mod?

I wanna know how well it runs.

Lol, when is Starcraft2 hitting stores?(the first third of it anyway :[)

I probably wont be getting a new computer for at least 5 or 6 months. I wanted to start getting an idea now and looking around following prices and stuff. I know very little about the inner workings of a computer so I figured I would start learning :D.

So I wouldn't get your hopes up! :]

Yep, exactly!

Did a bit of research and this Asus looks like an extremely easy to use motherboard.

What makes it worth paying a premium over the lower priced X58s? Will it improve performance? Will any of the 'features' be useful to the end-user? The answer is no.

Ease of use matters greatly to me. I have never built a computer before. And I would probably want to help my brother build this and learn.

Um, it's a motherboard. Why would you even change the options on it unless you were overclocking? All motherboards should 'just work' and autodetect hardware.
