Forums - Sony - So I Just Played Valkyria Chronicles for the First Time

haha i remember that exact same feeling the first time i load VC into my ps3 and then saw a drawing being outlined in pencil then coloured in, and all of a sudden it's a moving picture lol, was crazy.

I really dig the art style, the fun gameplay, and the fact that it offers a good 30 hours of gaming.

I downloaded the demo right after reading the title of this thread (I forgot there was a demo).

I had pretty much the same experience :)

Although the tutorial and the demo itself are incredibly short, I loved the way the game worked. And now that I've found a cheap way to get my games, I'll put this on the list next. (going to pre-order KZ2 shortly and after that, VC is going to enter my house - despite other people telling me to buy Uncharted first >_>)

Then I can say that I am also someone who has the game everyone should have but no one has bought :p

I found the demo to be pretty underwhelming but the full game is actually pretty damn fun. I'd argue it pushs the SRPG genre forward in a good direction. Presentation, gameplay, story, this game has it all.

Playing: InFamous, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, Modern Warfare 2

I just bought it and play first chapter. It looks very very promissing and I think this game will make my wait for FFXIII less painful.

What is it about?

Sorry for duplicate post :(

It is about a small country in the middle of a war between two large conglomerations (one federation and one empire).  You control a small platoon drafted into the militia to try and keep the invading empire out of your homeland.

...

Great game. Completed the last battle with level a 17 squad, and am now blasting though a second time with a much more powerful team/weapons, and the benifit of forsight. Anybody else think the music is waaayyyyy too repetetive? I turned it off about 60%- 70% complete through my first run.

you guys convinced me to get the demo. i dont like rpgs but if it plays anything like phantasy star , i will have to purchase it.

@ fei-hung: That demo is incredibly short though. But getting a C-rank on the mission already made me go at it twice over, just to get a better rank >_>

And seeing the different possibilities with the preference in team mates, their own potentials, their skills, and their allergies and such, it is quite immersive.

But as many have said, the demo doesn't do the game any justice, looking at vids and hearing other people talk about the full game...
