So far this gen is miles behind the previous one. I even think it's worse than the SNES and PS1 era as well.

The only gamers that can be very happy are those that play shooters, but especially the number of quality JRPGs is ridiculously low.

I've been able to play TWO! so far; Lost Odyssey (which I like a lot) and Fire Emblem (which is the best game this gen so far). Both Tales games aren't even eleased here and the others have bad reviews. FFXIII won't be here for at least a year. Star Ocean will help, but the Wii JRPGs have no fixed date yet.

Also the technical level of my 360 games isn't very good (same goes for PS3 games I've played btw). Framedrops, patches, unstable framerate etc. Ridiculous. Devs should use the power of the consoles to make technically stable games, but all they care about is the graphics. Sad.

Edit: that's for the consoles: the DS is becoming my favorite system ever.

I reckon most Xbox 360 owners would find if difficult to complain about JRPG's this generation.

We are getting at least two or three a year ranging from decent to brilliant.

Well, compared to everything in the 6th gen, you only have Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, and Star Ocean 4, which I beleive will be amazing. Decent doesn't cut it against the 6th gen JRPG's.

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

I'll give you 6.5... on a last-gen console during the 7th gen. =P

I think I missed the part where Persona 4 wasn't a PS2 game.

I fully agree with Xen. 360 is the best place for JRPGs this gen (so far), but that doesn't make it great.

Only + side I see in this gen is Online gaming..

I love this gen so far, this gen I really play my games a lot more than I did last gen thx to the online part and boy do I love PSN/Xbla/wiiware. People who complain about less original games really should spend more time on PSN/Xbla/Wiiware. Braid/Maw/Castle Crashers,Geometry wars I love them!
