Indeed how original, we have ourselves another glorious Killzone 2 thread!

So it was stated that 1.1 million pre-orders for Killzone 2 had taken place in the EU but what I would like to know is that was the pre-orders by consumers or stores? I think people are getting the wrong end of the stick here with that number and are under the impression that Killzone 2 will sell 1.1 million first week just in the EU.

My logical guess is that the 1.1 million pre-orders are from stores as those numbers would be easy for Sony to track as they are suppliers unlike pre-orders by consumers from stores. So basically stores have ordered 1.1 million copies from Sony in the EU, meaning that the game will sell at least 1.1 million in EU, but NOT in the first week.............right?

I think this thread is good, this way people will not have a new asshole ripped for them when Killzone 2 does not sell 1.1 million first week in the EU, misinformation is never good.

@prophecy I knoe the ad campaign budget in UK is twice the ad campaign for LBP in UK which was heavily advertised on TV.

yea, it is store pre-orders. I expect it to last 2-3 weeks before they need another shipment. So I'm thinking ~500k first week in Europe, it can probably do the same in the US, so at least 1m first week WW.

I'm thinking similar sales to MGS4 minus the Japanese sales.

True,Sony does this alll the time...tracks games to stores,not consumers.
