No.. the DS might, but thats only if Nintendo doesnt release a new DS which they might do by 2009.

I don't think it will. The biggest advantage that the PS2 had was that it had a DVD player out of the box. A lot of people bought it as a cheap DVD player with the ability to play games.

I think it will.  There's nothing wrong with the Wii's "staying power".  The staying power is defined as it's releases and has almost nothing to do with graphics.  Unless the current generation will become magically much more powerful than it is, there's no reason to think the Wii will suddenly have a hard time competing against the same hardware it's mopping the floors with now.

The Wii's 1st year is nothing short of phenomenal. However, the PS2 was a force of nature! The PS2 had something for everyone at the end of year 1. The Wii offers something DIFFERENT.

The Wii is by far the most played system in my house, but I will probably never buy the Wii version of anything mult-platform. Until Wii offers something for everyone, it won't put up those PS2 numbers.....but then neither will the PS3 or the 360.

Well right now it is selling better than the PS2 at this point .But to do so it would need to do so for 7 years from now ,and thats the more difficult thing .I doubt Nintendo can keep with this low-tech console for as long ,and we have to see if the Wii numbers will continue to be as high when the novelty of the wiimote wears off one or two years down the road .

I'm typing on my Wii, and I think I typed something anti-Nintendo. The Wii simply refused to send it........either that, or I deleted more of Soriku's comment than I should have. This is quite a glitch. I believe if I played around with it enough, I could actually make comments in somebody else's name. The part about the GC having a 7 year life span was quoted from Soriku. The part about the 'cube not reaching 7 years until 08 was from me. I'm not the type to exploit something like this glitch though, seriously.

Drat. It didn't work.

Oh well.. Here's a caturday instead.
