i think spartanFX give all the goodies of the ps3.
there still problem with the xbox360 RROD and the wii is fun for party only...

can't wait for killzone 2 cause the demo is sooooooooooooo good...

i hate the stereotyping of Wii being "kiddy" or only for fun parties.

I have like 15 games, and only 3 of them are more than single player.  Guitar Heroes, Smash, and Wiisports.  The rest of my games are all story driven single player games.

I own a PS3 and Wii (and have played the 360) and from what you've said I suggest you go with a PS3.

There have been so many posts here showing this is not the case.

The RROD is only a problem to older models and if you plan on buying one of those then yes it could be a problem.  But if your buying a new system your likely hood of having a different problem is much greater than the RROD.

It is funny how the Sony fanboys attack the Wii instead of just recommending the PS3 ;)

I'd say go for the Wii for the same reasons as bbsin

You have a kid who would enjoy the mario universe very much and this year many core title will be coming, not to mention MotionPlus!

I'd say the Wii is actually the console with the most potential - sorry PS3 follwers but I think that with pretty much a completely new controller half way through the Wii's life mixed with the fact third parties have shifted their resources to the Wii this year in a big way (and will continue to for years to come) I think that Wii has the most potential and is most future proof

 I second this post.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

I guess the problem is that all the consoles are great, now the real question is which of the consoles is the greatest for you?

Considering money is an issue for you, I will focus a little on value.

Some advantages for the Wii and Xbox 360 now are that you can buy some really great games at discounted prices (Im more sure on the 360 less on the Wii but I do hear about sales and cheap games a lot) and games are your MOST significant expense. You can by a tonne of 360 games on the cheap, whilst most of the really great PS3 games are new and therefore are still quite expensive.

It looks like you will be able to purchase a Wii or Xbox 360 now rather than later, and start enjoying them. The Wii is currently the very best console to share the experience with a wide range of people, if you want to share the experience with other gamers the Xbox 360 has a good/great library of games to share with friends your own age. I even got my mom to play Castle Crashers, it was probably the greatest day of my life! JK!!! The PS3 does have games to share, but unfortunately not as many as the Xbox 360.

Another side of value are your friends, you will enjoy your games more IMO if you can share the experience with them and more importantly BORROW their games. Like I said earlier games are your biggest expense so consider what your friends have carefully. Another side of this is playing online, you do have to pay to play on the Xbox 360 and its free on the PS3, however if all your friends (or your best friends) are on Xbox Live, or PSN that should sway you because a lonely online experience is no experience you want.

One neat trick with the Xbox 360 is that you can plug it into any monitor you want (Which is what I do) and get the HD experience even if you don't have an HD TV.

Btw, the batteries in the 360 last for ages and owning both I prefer batteries because if your Sixaxis runs out of juice you have to plug the cable in to charge which is rather annoying. Also its easier to keep all your controllers juiced for when friends show up.

Tease.

YOU CAN BUY USED PS3 GAMES IN STORES OR ONLINE. THERE ARE MANY GREAT PSN GAMES FOR VERY LOW PRICES AS WELL.

DON'T LOOK AT TOTAT LIBRARY (THE 360 HAS ONE YEAR OVER THE PS3) LOOK AT THE TOTAL GAMES THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN. ALSO LOOK AT QUALITY. YOU CANT FIND ANYTHING LIKE LITTLEBIGPLANET ANYWHERE ELSE RIGHT NOW.

I PREFER JUST CONNECTING MY CONTROLLER TO MY CONSOLE, PC OR ANY USB PORT THAN HAVING TO BUY BATTERIES ALL THE TIME OR HAVING TO SPEND EXTRA MONEY ON A CHARGER.

In a couple of weeks, I plan to buy a new console of this generation. Honnestly, I don't know which one to buy because the 3 consoles are amazing. PS3 ? Xbox 360? or Wii ?

PS3 : a amazing machine with a lot of potentiel. Killzone 2, Resistence 2, GOW3 are reasons why I should buy this monster console. The problem is the price. I would wait for a price-cut... at 300$ the ps3 would be my first pick.

Xbox 360 : Amazing line-up like the ps3 (and maybee better right now...). The problem is all the accesories we must buy : batteries, Fans... and the RROD make me scare : Have they fix that problem ?

Wii : Cool machine. Fun to play (yes I like the metroid series but I have already finish the 3 prime...) but is this a nice choice if I plan to buy only one system ? And let's be honnest, I don't have a lot of time to spend on videogame (because of my little kid... which I love buy the way) but I still more of a hardcore gamer.

I don't want to start a war on this thread, just want to find some answers. What do you think about that VGChartz buddies ?

Thanks !
