They praised everything about KZ 2 except for the story and yet gave it a 7?

FPS are not known for their marvelous stories. If a FPS gets the gameplay mechanics correct, it has done its job.

Are you implying that it could be really fun to play and shoot in a game while also having bad controls?  That makes no sense.

I'm implying he could have not been bothered by the control set-up as much, or maybe the final build is better then the demo, but he never said the game had amazing controls only amazing gunplay which is two totally different things.

This magazine is on the same level as the SDF in my opinion. They just pump out rediculous content, and try to grab views off pure unprofesionalism. If they were supposed to be a joke like SDF I would have less of an issue, but considering that they are positioned as a profesional outfit, this is just embarrasing.

To people trying to defend this. These people are supposed to be professionals. As a professional you are basing your review on how good something is, and not how good it is IYO. A professional food critic does not walk into a resterant that he hates, get served by a shity waiter, down one of the best meals in his life, and still say garbage. He would say that the food is great, his personal taste did not like the resterant or its employees, plus a few examples. In the end if the food is 10 quality the resterant should get a ten, because that is what you are there for. For a game it should only be about how playable the game is, and if there are any game breaking glitches. Otherwise, graphics, story, lastability, sound, and presintation are all subject to personal preferance.

To the person that says they have gameplay preferances....lots of bad stuff.......a game either has good gameplay, or it doesn't. It may be to easy, or it may be to hard, but trhat is not the fualt of the controls, it is either a lack of skill on the players part, or a matter of opinion on how difficault the game is.

Edge are very harse reviewers, a 5 is average for them. However I doubt Edge knew they have now provided ammo for foaming Nintendo and 360 fanboys, just like the OP who just wanted to stir shit.

Edge makes no sense. They give Gears 2 and Fable II 9s, Halo 3 a 10, but they give Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 a 7s, and MGS4 an 8.

And then they gave LBP a 10.

It seems rather inconsistent to me (more so than most websites/magazines). But then, that's the way of the reviewing world.
