I haven't used a PS3 Dual Shock or Six-axis.... but I did have some problems with the PS2 one.

-First, I don't like analogue face buttons, it always seemed to mean I had to press harder for things to work.
-The d-pad is too stiff
-The control sticks are too loose (not talking about wear as I never owbed one myself, just played a lot at my friends)
-The control sticks don't have directional aid (circular receptacles instead of octagon)
-One of them is in the wrong place... thumb stretching to get to the damn things.
-They don't have any proper grip on top, yes they are made of rubber but rubber doesn't work if your thumb is sweaty.

I don't have a problem with the shoulder buttons as some seem to do... but then I haven't played many FPS with it so that could be why.

Then again I can name problems for even my favourite old-style controller: The GameCube.

- The analogue triggers feel a bit odd... perhaps too loose.
- The same triggers don't have enough space behind them for my long fingers.... ie when I press them down to "clicked" position, the end of my finger is bent back slightly... which is fine in shooters and such, but when keeping a boost held for a long time on Burnout it gets uncomfy.
- The z-button is in an awkward place.
- D-pad too small.

The 360's controller is absolutely great for the only 360 game I have really enjoyed (Ninja Gaiden 2).

It's also nice for shooters, but I prefer my shooters on PC or Wii anyway. However I will probably get Bioshock for 360 as the PC version doesn't work properly here.

I must say that the 2 controllers are barely equal with a little advantage on the dualshock. I prefer the feeling of the button on the ps3 controller while I found the left analogue stick more acurate on the 360. But we talk about the 2 top controllers in video game no doubt...

Killzone 2 was almost rendered unplayable for me due to how awful the dual analogs are for FPS games that don't have an uber autoaim.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Quick question... somewhat going away from the topic.....

Does anyone else fingers slip off the New PS3 controllers L2 & R2 buttons when playing games?

I don't know why they made the PS3 controllers this way, but when I get into a game, whether it be say a FPS or Racer my fingers tend to slip off the damn L2 mainly R2 Button / Trigger

Just want to know if it happens to other people.

Also the Duel Shock was a good controller when I was younger... but as I got older the controller didn't mature, and feels smaller, and harder to use.

It's like when I pick up my SMS or NES Controller... but those controllers are easier because you just have a couple buttons and a directional pad.

I love the XBox360 controller when I had my XBox360. I thought it was the best controller ever. When I first got my PS3, the SIXAXIS just felt wrong. It wasn't nearly as comfortable and the triggers and analog sticks felt very different from the XBox360's triggers/analog sticks.

However, after having used the SIXAXIS for over a year to play a wide variety of games, I have to say that I actually prefer it. It seems to have a slightly wider range of motion (probably from having a longer analog stick). And I prefer it's "loose" feel. I was actually surprised when I played GTA4 at my friends house on his XBox360 at how much I didn't like the XBox360 controller and at how stiff the analog sticks were. Same when I played Left 4 Dead recently. And the bumpers feel a little awkward to use.

The PS3 controller just seems so much better functionally. And the placement of the analog sticks don't bother me at all. I don't love the triggers, but they don't bother me too much anymore. They are just too spongy. I'd give the edge to the XBox360 controller for comfort and durability and the Dualshock for functionality (especially the terrible XBox360 d-pad). Overall I'd pick a Dualshock over the XBox360 controller.

Nope, mine don't.  They were a little awkward to use at first when I tired to push on it with the area between my first and second digit on the index finger (like I would with an XBox360 controller), but now i use the tip of my fingers to push them.  No problems when I do that.

I don't have a Dualshock 3 controller, so I can't speak to it, but I don't care for the Six-Axis controller. It's too light and the triggers suck. The 360 controller has the right weight and the triggers are substantial and have a long stroke, which allow for precision in racing games (the Six-Axis has a short stroke, which makes it almost digital - not a lot between on and off).

I'm not a big fan of the PS1/2/3 buttons being shape oriented rather than color oriented. Yeah, they have color, but that's not how I seem to identify it (e.g., I wouldn't say the red button on a PS2/3, but I might on an Xbox/Xbox360).

Of course, I tend to prefer Xbox to PS, so I guess I'm just more used to the correspondng controller.

I have bought the XCM Cross Battle Apater for my Ps3 so I could use my xbox360 controller, I think the dual shock is certainly usable but the 360 controller just feels better. If I use the dualshock to much I get handcramps,  never had that problem with the xbox360 controller.
